Seminar series on the cold rolling industry successfully completed Five of our German coworkers successfully completed a seminar series on topics around cold rolled steel strip. Congratulations! As in previous years, the Institute for Metal Forming Technology (Institut für Umformtechnik) in Lüdenscheid and the Cold Rolling Mills Association (Fachvereinigung Kaltwalzwerke e.V.), both based in Germany, offered the seminar series for employees of the local cold rolling industry from a wide range of departments During a total of 13 events throughout the year 2024, the participants deepened their knowledge, for example, on materials science, steel production, processing techniques and end user applications. Strong ties with Waelzholz worldwide We are proud of the fact that numerous coworkers remain loyal to our company for many years and even decades. This is because, among other factors, we have our experienced and capable team worldwide to thank for Waelzholz’s continuous growth and long-term success. Just recently, we honored our employees in Germany who celebrated notable work anniversaries. And now our team at the Taicang site in China has also bid farewell to their coworker of many years, Xiaofeng Yang, as he heads off into a well-deserved retirement. Xiaofeng has been there from the very beginning – he worked in maintenance from the founding of the Waelzholz New Material (Taicang) Co., Ltd. service center until his final day. To thank him for so many years of service, Xiaofeng’s closest coworkers and his supervisor came together to bid him a fitting farewell. 🎄 Waelzholz hosts 73rd children’s Christmas party🎅 Nearly 300 children and their parents attended our 73rd annual children’s Christmas party in Hagen, Germany, this year. All of the children between the ages of 3 and 11 of our employees at the German sites in Hagen, Plettenberg, and Wickede were invited. Together we ushered in the Christmas season and brought bright smiles to the kids’ faces. The performance by the Waelzholz children’s choir, directed by Tone Johansen-Junius, wife of the chairman of our company’s foundation council Board of Trustees Dr.-Ing. Hans-Toni Junius, was a particularly moving moment. A youth circus from Hagen was also on hand and a big hit with the little ones. One of the highlights of the party was a visit from St. Nicholas, who gave all the children candy and a gift. 🎁 We’d like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this special day possible – from the organizers to the tireless helpers on the day of the event. 🌟 We look forward to continuing this wonderful tradition next year! #familienunternehmen #christmas #christmasparty #christmaspartyforkids #steelstrip #santaclause

A look behind the ice hockey scenes During their Christmas party, our Sales, Production Planning and Process Development, as well as Marketing coworkers from the German location in Hagen enjoyed a look behind the scenes with the Iserlohn Roosters. They were given an exclusive tour of the premises and were able to see how the ice hockey club, which Waelzholz has sponsored for over three years, carries out its day-to-day business. Pre-Christmas surprise at Waelzholz in China 🎅🎁   Last Friday, our Chinese coworkers at the Waelzholz New Material site in Taicang were delighted to receive a small gift from Santa Claus.   After drawing a lottery number, each employee picked a surprise package. The packages contained various gifts such as chocolate, cookies, snack packs, milk, coffee, Christmas socks or thermos bottles   The WNM team clearly enjoyed the surprise.
