Thanks @Michael Demmer for building bridges between theoretical education and practical applications. Combining the best of these two worlds has always been one of our key success factors. Sharing our experiences and the exchange of ideas with bright and motivated students is always a pleasure.
”Strategy without execution is just hallucination!” Today, it needs to be clarified that this insight was formulated prior to the arrival of AI. Over the past couple of days, I had the great pleasure to discuss with our ESSEC-Mannheim EMBA Class of 2026 how to effectively design and implement ‘good’ strategy! 🙏 Our discussion was greatly enriched by Michael Demmer, Chief Strategy Officer at Wieland Group and a much valued alumnus of the University of Mannheim, and by Deniz Yilmaz, escalation manager at SAP and recent alumnus of the ESSEC Business School and Mannheim Business School EMBA program. Thank you both for sharing your vast experiences and insights with us! 👏 Class of 2026, keep it up! I look forward to seeing your critical strategy reviews and how you utilize the strategy toolkit in your own strategic projects! #mannheimforlife #areamanagement #strategicmanagement

Traditional topping out ceremony 🎉 a milestone for our copper recycling center in Vöhringen! Earlier this week, we celebrated an important step forward in our construction journey with the traditional topping out ceremony for our new facility at the Vöhringen site. In German tradition, the Richtfest (topping out ceremony) marks the completion of the building's frame and roof. It's a moment to thank everyone involved - planners, architects and builders alike - for their dedication and teamwork. 🙌 This project strengthens Wieland's independence from external suppliers, closes the material loop and aims to increase our recycling rate to almost 100%. Once completed, the center will produce copper with 100% recycled content, primarily from local production waste, securing the material supply for our operations and significantly reducing the carbon footprint of our products. 🌍♻️
