Holding the first built-to-scale prototype of a tool in your hand after only a few minutes, all while saving resources? 🛠 No problem! More than a hundred Würth Group companies are working on 3D printing to make this technology easily accessible to our customers. 🤝🏻 This is no easy task, as 3D printing is still a new manufacturing method which, while regulated by laws, directives, and standards, is constantly subjected to new legal requirements. This changing political and regulatory landscape requires stronger collaboration within the Würth Group, which why companies are meeting regularly to discuss different requirements across continents, among other things. For example, what might a process look like aimed at providing the print file for a component for customers in the EMEA region? After all, machinery directives, safety data sheets and conformities have to be checked before the actual file can hit the market. “The working group has jointly developed a solution for this that each company can adapt for its market,” said Michael Worm, project manager at Würth Deutschland. For Würth, 3D printing technology is a world full of opportunities: “Due to its ease of automation and further technological leaps, 3D printing has the long-term potential to revolutionize not only the way objects are manufactured, but also the logistics, procurement and production processes for trade and industry.” The eight colleagues in the picture are part of the Würth Group's global 3D printing solutions team. When Truc Quynh Nguyen is in the chemistry lab at Reinhold Würth Innovation Center Curio, she indulges her creative side. “Just like the arts, chemistry requires a lot of creativity. You have to do a lot of experiments to achieve the result you want,” the student explains. The native of Vietnam is currently writing her master’s thesis at Würth, for which she examined the formulation of an environmentally friendly UV adhesive. Her goal: increasing its adhesive strength by optimizing one component of the formulation. Applying the knowledge she gained during her studies, she developed possible solutions that she could test directly in the lab. “You immediately see whether it has worked or not. This is the great thing about chemistry,” says the 28-year-old. “My supervisors and the company give me a lot of leeway to explore my ideas and are open to them,” she adds. Her experimenting has paid off: “The analysis of the adhesive has yielded great results,” she says with a satisfied smile. These results will be incorporated into the new improved formulation. After all, Würth strives to continuously refine its products for its customers to make their work easier. 🧪 And her favorite element in the periodic table? “Carbon. Because it is an essential element for all known life.”

🖌 The Würth Collection presents the watercolor cycle Fundsachen für Nichtleser (Trouvailles for the non-reader) by Günter Grass. All of the 116 original watercolors are now featured in the exhibition of the same name at the Hirschwirtscheuer museum in Künzelsau, Germany. This remarkable exhibition reveals a lesser-known side of the Nobel Prize winner for literature: his talent as a visual artist. In 1999, Grass created a new art form with his watercolors, which he called ‘Aquadichte’, a wordplay to express the equitable amalgam of watercolor and poetry. With his delight in wordplay, knack for punchlines, and a certain degree of self-irony, Grass wrote his verses into the watercolor using the same colored brush with which he had painted them. Or, as he put it: “Verses that I create / with the help of filled Tuborg bottles / water-soluble paints, / a thick brush and an open eye; / oh yes, paper is also necessary.” He painted 116 watercolors on the Danish island of Møn, in Portugal’s Algarve, and in Behlendorf in Holstein. “As a visual artist I am a trained artist, as a writer an untrained artist,” he said. 📍 The exhibition offers an in-depth look at this exceptional facet of Grass’s work. Open from Wednesday to Sunday, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Admission is free! 🖼 Credits: Günter Grass, Grillenfangen, Würth Collection, Inv. 4723.49 © Günter und Ute Grass Stiftung / Steidl Verlag Günter Grass, Meine alte Olivetti, Würth Collection, Inv. 4723.19 © Günter und Ute Grass Stiftung / Steidl Verlag Günter Grass, Für dich, Würth Collection, Inv. 4723.60 © Günter und Ute Grass Stiftung / Steidl Verlag

As part of the 15th Summit of World Market Leaders (Gipfeltreffen der Weltmarktführer), the traditional highlight session took place at the CARMEN WÜRTH FORUM. Participants from business, science and politics were welcomed by Prof. Dr. h. c. mult. Reinhold Würth, Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group. In his welcoming address, Reinhold Würth also looked back on his 75 years of professional life and recalled his time as an apprentice in his father's company. His father's motto from this time was formative: "Quality beats price." A principle that has accompanied him throughout his entire entrepreneurial career. With regard to the economic situation of the Würth Group, Reinhold Würth is cautiously optimistic about the coming months. The highlight of the evening was the german writer and lawyer Juli Zeh. In a dialog with Maja Brankovic, deputy editor-in-chief of the german newspaper WirtschaftsWoche, Zeh spoke about the social challenges of our time. When asked how she assessed the general mood in Germany, Zeh felt it was better than it is currently portrayed. Despite the current challenges, she was optimistic that the mood could change for the better within a short space of time as a result of decisive events. It is important to believe that progress and improvement are always possible, she emphasized. 📸 Gipfeltreffen der Weltmarktführer | Foto Vogt
