🌍 Today, we celebrate the UN's declaration of World Sustainable Transport Day, a reminder of the importance of cleaner and greener transport systems for a better future. 🌱 Our latest survey reveals some fascinating insights into current mobility patterns and the challenges we face in adopting more sustainable transport. ❓ Did you know that almost 90% of respondents consider sustainable transport extremely or moderately important in their daily lives? Yet, many still rely on private vehicles due to time constraints and convenience. Key findings include: 🚌 39% of respondents use public transport or active modes, but 41% still drive their cars daily. ⏱️ 31% of respondents cite time constraints as a major barrier to switching to greener alternatives. 🛑 50% of respondents identify technical barriers like outdated systems as hurdles in their cities. These insights highlight the need for innovative solutions to make sustainable transport more accessible and efficient. From connected mobility solutions to adaptive traffic management, technology plays a crucial role in overcoming these challenges. ⬇️ Read the full article to explore how we can turn these challenges into solutions for a more sustainable future! #WorldSustainableTransportDay #SustainableTransport #GreenMobility

🔔 Exciting news! Our AI-enabled traffic control system, Yutraffic FUSION, has successfully completed its first phase in Prague! In collaboration with TSK Praha, we've rolled out the initial deployment of Yutraffic FUSION in Prague. This AI-enabled system optimizes traffic light operations to improve vehicle flow, reduce delays, and minimize stops for smoother traffic. Benefits for Prague and its residents: ✅ Shorter journey times and lower emissions ✅ Priority for public transport and emergency vehicles ✅ Potential for automatic green waves on key routes ✅ Quick adaptation to changing traffic conditions Prague joins the ranks of global cities embracing this cutting-edge technology. Our Yutraffic FUSION system at Patočkova Street intersections is already proving its efficiency in real traffic scenarios! We're excited for the upcoming phases and the continued benefits for Prague's residents and visitors! 🚦✨ #SmartCity #TrafficControl #AI

🧑🏽💻 #Hackathon "Hackenheim 2024": Last week we held our third Yunex Traffic Hackathon over three days, bringing together around 30 colleagues from the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland for an exciting software challenge! 🌍 🚀 Kickoff with a PLC Workshop: Our Swiss colleagues kicked things off with a PLC workshop led by Jasper van Mourik and Akan Zhan. They showcased our custom applications, PLCFileBuilder & TIABuilder, which automate the generation, compilation, and downloading of PLC applications from a DevOps build pipeline. Projects like the Piet Heintunnel and Stockholm Bypass benefit from nightly automatic updates, and this tooling is now in use for the Triax Renovation Schinkelbruggen project in Amsterdam. 🏎️ The Hackathon Challenge: After a hearty lunch, the challenge was revealed: automate Formula 1 cars on a 3D racing track, "Hackenheim," created by Thomas De Mulder. The goals were: 🔹 Develop innovative control algorithms without traditional PLCs. 🔹 Create visualizations for car data (engine temperature, tire wear, speed, gears, etc.). 🔹 Perform data analysis to optimize car behavior. 🔹 Foster team-building and fun! Our engineers dove into the challenge with enthusiasm, using technologies like Kafka, ZeroMQ, Grafana, React, Streamlit (Python GUI), Python, and C#. Many teams chose Python for their control algorithms, with one team even using ChatGPT to generate a PID algorithm in C#. The competition was fierce, with the last GitLab commit at 5:40 a.m.! Of course, all this had to be supported by pizzas, a BBQ, and an ample supply of chocolate, chips, and drinks. 🍕🍫 🔧 Mechanical Challenge: We also tested our mechanical skills with a tire-changing challenge. It turns out, software skills don't always translate to quick tire changes! The team that planned their approach before starting won this challenge. 🏁 The Final Race: The event culminated in an exciting race on Sunday, displayed on a big screen. Each of the four teams had three cars, and the competition was tight. Team "Need for Speed" won the race, while Team "Trackmania" took the overall event victory with their creative applications, teamwork, and innovative solutions. Well done, #TeamYunexTraffic! 💪🏽

At Yunex Traffic Netherlands, we are committed to a more sustainable future. Therefore, we have adjusted our leasing policy to EV-only. This means that no new fuel cars can be ordered, and our leasing fleet in the Netherlands will consist entirely of electric vehicles by 2030. 🚗⚡ Why are we doing this? Our mission is to minimize and ultimately eliminate our company’s impact on the environment. Our clients are imposing increasingly stringent sustainability requirements, and EV-only is the norm in our market. Many of our competitors and partners have already taken this step, and we at Yunex Traffic aim to be completely Net Zero by 2040. To achieve this, we need to be fully electric with our leasing fleet by 2030. Sustainable transport for our employees: We strive for sustainable transport for all our employees. Therefore, we offer the possibility to apply for an NS Business Card, which can be used for commuting and business travel. The travel costs are 100% reimbursed, provided you do not receive any other compensation for your commuting. This means you don’t have to spend a euro to get to work, and you can travel sustainably at the same time! Together, we are working towards a greener future! 🌱🌍 #WorldSustainableTransportDay #EVOnly #NetZero2040 #YunexTrafficNL
