🤝🤗 We are pleased to announce that our “PhenoRob Interdisciplinary Lecture Series” (PILS) will now be continued as the “Public Interdisciplinary Lecture Series” in cooperation with the Transdisciplinary Research Area Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Futures (TRA Sustainable Futures). 🔎🌍 The first speaker is Ina Danquah, Hertz Chair “Innovation for Planetary Health” in the TRA Sustainable Futures and Director at the Zentrum für Entwicklungsforschung / Center for Development Research (ZEF) at The University of Bonn. 🌦🌱 Her research focuses on climate change, nutrition and health. I am happy to share that my paper with Dr Ejaz Anwer and Aditya Korekallu Srinivasa has been awarded the Dr. D.K. Desai Award for the best paper by the Indian Society of Agricultural Economics (ISAE ORG ) published in the Indian Journal of Agricultural Economics in 2023. In this paper, we looked into the #Resilience of the #Rural #Employment #Sector to #economic shocks in India, specifically the effect of #demonetization, the #COVID-19 pandemic, and Goods and service taxes (#GST) on employment. I enjoyed writing paper with my colleagues as part of my project on Rural Non-Farm employment in India at ICAR NIAP. We thank the journal editors, the selection committee, and Dr Desai's family for encouraging and recognizing us with the award. The award was presented at the recent ISAE conference at @PAJANCOA & RI, Kariakal, Puducherry, my alma mater, which makes me happier and more thankful.
