Our profile
As a central academic service unit, the Center for Teaching and Learning Services (CLS) supports RWTH lecturers in their teaching activities. It is divided into the areas of Excellent Academic Teaching (ExAcT), Media for Teaching (MfL), Learning Platform Management (LPM), Self Assessment (SAM) and the Student Lifecycle Support department (SLB). Together we cover the topics of qualification, evaluation, production of teaching materials and operation of teaching platforms. In the "Media for Teaching" department, we support all RWTH lecturers in the production of high-quality blended learning content. We produce videos to accompany courses and develop one of the most modern electronic examination systems, an open source learning analytics platform and web-based teaching and learning games. This ensures university-wide integration of modern teaching formats.

Your profile
Completed bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field
- Sound knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, Golang or Python
- Experience in programming web applications (HTML, CSS, Angular) is an advantage
- Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL)
- Interest in agile development methods (e.g. Scrum)
- High motivation, communication and team skills as well as the ability to carry out projects independently and responsibly
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills
Your tasks
As a Software Developer (f/m/d), You Will Support Us In Interdisciplinary Project Teams And Across Universities As Well As In Cooperation With External Service Providers. You Will Take On The Following Tasks
- Collaboration in the development and implementation of web applications
- Development and implementation of system components in learning and assessment platforms
- Administration, coordination and operation of existing web applications
- Programming components of other software products from the "Media for Teaching" department
- Quality assurance and testing during development
- Documentation of the elaborations
The recruitment takes place in an employment relationship.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and is limited to 2 years.
The fixed term is based on
- 14 para. 1 of the Part-Time and Fixed-Term Employment Act (TzBfG). This is a full-time position. The classification is based on the TV-L. The position is valued at EG 10.
