ARRI Stage London welcomed WPP and its Creative Tech Apprenticeship program to create virtual production trailers for their final module projects – games that had been built using Fortnite, VR or AR. The intensive nine-month program enables junior talent to develop their artistic voice by working on real-life projects with some of the top technology companies in the world. The shoot was delivered by NM Productions and incorporated six projects, each involving a team of three students. Take a pitstop and check out bp “Life’s Journeys” campaign, brought to life at ARRI Stage London. This recently launched work marks the company’s first creative project in the UK to be built solely around virtual production. Conceived by Ogilvy UK and produced by Hogarth, the shoot highlights bp’s extensive UK service station network with stunning visuals for TV. The use of 3D environments enabled the team to recreate authentic bp forecourt and interior store locations safely, whilst maintaining complete control of lighting and weather conditions. Utilizing virtual production for the campaign gave director Charlie Bray and DP Charlie Herranz a highly flexible, adaptable environment, opening endless possibilities for creative storytelling.
