⚙ Blow Molding: Our key process for the production of crystal-clear luminaire covers    We’re excited to give you a glimpse into our production process!  📽️ Check out our video to see the blow molding process in action and get an inside look at how we craft our high-quality luminaire covers. 🔄 Here’s the Process: ➡ Injection Molding: We start by making a bottle-shaped preform from PC granulate using injection molding. This preform sets the foundation.   ➡ Inspection and Placement: One of our team members carefully inspects the preform for quality and then places it into the blow molding machine.   ➡ Blow Molding: The preform is then heated and, once softened, it’s inflated using air pressure to take the shape of the mold. This results in a hollow luminaire cover with a crystal-clear surface. Our technology and careful process ensure that every piece is perfect for further processing like Metallisation and Lacquering. ➡ Metallisation: Applying a metallic layer by vacuum metallisation to the inner surface for a reflective translucent or opaque finish. A flawless surface of the blow-molded parts is the basis for an exclusive appearance.   ➡ Lacquering: Applying f. e. translucent color lacquering to the product for a high-quality and unique appearance. 💡 And the best part? We can create products with undercuts—features that extend into the mold and can’t be directly pulled out in a straight line. These allow for more complex and intricate designs. We also offer customer-owned products tailored to our customers' unique specifications. Our technical department is always ready to provide support in implementing these custom designs. Let's talk about project execution 🛠 💪 In our sales process, we aim for tailored technical advise and best customer experience. But often we get ask: What comes next? To answer that question, we made an overview of what we call the development process. Whenever we develop a new customer profile at Elkamet, we follow those steps for on-time and in-budget execution. Dedicated project managers make sure that our clients are aware of our actions in every phase of the development process. Everything monitored by our IATF 16949:2016 certification, so that a great customer experience remains through the development process and beyond. The past few weeks have been amazing. Firstly, I attended Light + Building in Frankfurt where I met many familiar and new faces. This was followed by a trip to New York where I visited customers and attended LEDucationNYC. Since it was my first visit to the USA, I'll never forget my last week in New York City.
