Voith HySTech stands for efficient and innovative hydrogen storage technologies. In particular, we have set ourselves the goal of optimized hydrogen pressure storage (compressed hydrogen). Gaseous hydrogen is stored under high pressure in special vessels, usually 200 to 700 bar (depending on the application). Such tanks, usually made of composite materials, are very resistant and enable safe storage. The high pressure significantly reduces the volume of the hydrogen so that large quantities of hydrogen can be stored in a relatively small area. This technology is used in vehicles, such as fuel cells or H2 combustion trucks, to ensure a sufficient range while protecting the environment. The development of H2 storage solutions requires a lot of experience and know-how, especially in the field of carbon fiber composites and automotive, which we have been able to accumulate for decades through well-known customers and projects.
