We stayed at Hotel Teun last week and enjoyed our stay. It is a small room but we only stayed in it to sleep, so this was ok for us. The steps are tiny so be careful carrying your luggage. There was some street noise but this is to be expected, and we didn't find it to be too obtrusive. We had dinner in the restaurant below the hotel, and it was very good! The servers there are also the ones that check you in and out of your hotel room, so head straight in there to check in, as the side door to the hotel is only accessible once you have your room key. There were lots of shops up and down the street that we explored in our free time. After walking down some of the busier areas of the city, I was glad we picked this hotel, as it is still close to the action but laid back enough that we didn't feel overwhelmed. The only downside that I can mention is the distance from the Centraal train station. We walked 15 minutes with a suitcase over cobblestones, which was annoying and noisy. This is no fault of the hotel, but something to keep in mind if you stay here. Next time I would bring a backpack so I don't have to drag a suitcase over all those cobblestones! We will definitely stay here again next time we're in Amsterdam.
