First time ever encountering BROWN WATER from the shower. Never booking this again.
Booked 1 night at Capri for birthday celebration.
Hotel was close to CIQ but didn't have a proper walking path - we had to walk on the road with the vehicles.
Hotel was undergoing renovation at the lobby and pool area. Check-in was fast and fuss-free.
Room looked clean but was warm. Air-con was weak and took ages to cool the room, but was still warm at night. Hotel gave a mini cake and fruit platter with a typed happy birthday note. Was a nice gesture (I requested for a simple deco if possible), but the lack of air-con wasn't good for the platters.
Shower was relaxing at night. Bed was comfortable. Night view and morning sunrise was great.
It was a different story in the morning. We had yellow water from the tap and brown water in the shower. There was no way to wash up or shower. Hotel took some time to send someone up to our room to check it out. They didn't know what the problem was and could not offer a solution. They wanted to offer us a room to shower, but realised it was a hotel-wide problem. Upon prompting, the manager then tried to offer us a 30% refund but this wasn't just a service shortfall - it was brown water in the shower! Moreover, we obviously expected better standards when we booked Capri by Fraser.
Hotel finally offered a full refund. Even so, I can't help but wonder about the service standards. The whole stay felt like the hotel was just going through the motions to deliver what they are supposed to. Or rather, service without heart?
Regretful that I didnt book DoubleTree or another hotel instead of trusting the good reviews of Capri.
