My main memory of this hotel will be lining up at (a usually unmanned) reception daily in the vain hope you can secure internet that works. For reasons best known to themselves, Premier Inn throttles the standard wifi to render it completely unusable. I'm talking 5 minutes to load a webpage kind of stuff here. "Luckily" I was in a Premier Plus room that included the premium wifi. (anyone not needs to pay £5 daily for internet as standard doesnt work). However instead of providing a pass that lasted my 6 day trip you have to get a fresh one daily. Worse still it only works 50% of the time, leading to more queuing at a reception bereft of staff. Id rather they just added £5 to every room and provide this essential utility than go through this charade. Internet aside: Pros - Good location at a reasonable price. - Actual staff, when they are around, are nice. (not their fault Premier Inn has them simultaneously doing the bar, reception and cleaning) - Comfortable bed and clean rooms. Cons - Next door is a building site. I had piling, drills, trucks etc every day from 7am to 7pm. Sleep is not possible during this window. - Easily the worst Premier Inn breakfast Ive experienced. No pastries, yoghurts or the like, just an awful line up of low quality fried stuff. - Mentioned above, but if staff are at bar reception if empty and vice versa. Depends on price I guess, but wouldnt rush back!
