Comedian Bill Burr is heated up about all the self-proclaimed wildfire experts spewing internet opinions about Los Angeles. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, Burr said that although he had to evacuate his home, he felt lucky.
“Everybody’s doing a great job,” Burr said before adding, “unlike the internet. Oh my god, all of these ‘fire experts.’ [Using an obnoxious know-it-all voice, Burr continued) ‘Why don’t you just fly a helicopter into the ocean?’ I don’t know maybe because of 100 knot winds…you f*ing lunatic.”
Again mocking the know-it-alls, Burr said in a Cliff Clavin voice, “This was definitely mismanaged,” adding in his own voice, “Like some f*cking idiot on the internet knows how to manage the worst fire in L.A., sitting there in his underwear. ‘You know, looking at the footage on the internet I have determined that this was mismanaged.’ If you’re on the internet, you know f*cking anything.”
Burr also spoke about his misguided faith in his previous purchase of a helicopter for quick escapes. “I didn’t realize how expensive helicopters were so all I have is a two-seater,” he told Kimmel, “and I didn’t want to have to make Sophie’s Choice with my family, so we all piled into the SUV like everybody else.”

Burr then ventured onto riskier turf. “They talk about looting but CNN and Fox News are not going to bring up the insurance companies that are just going to keep everybody’s premiums and still give themselves a bonus.” Then shouting, “Free Luigi!,” Burr said he “loved how they all acted surprised” by the shooting death of an insurance executive by alleged killer Luigi Mangione. “I love how they acted surprised,” Burr said, “like, ‘Uh, why did that happen?’ He wrote on the bullets why it happened!”
“Oh, we’re back to Luigi,” Kimmel interjected.
“I never left Luigi,” Burr said.
