Oh, it’s on between Deborah and Ava.
In the trailer for season 4 of Hacks, which returns April 10 to Max, Jean Smart‘s alter-ego mutters sarcastically “well, aren’t you a big brave girl” now that her former writer (Hannah Einbinder) is now running Deborah’s new late-night talk show.
But the days of hugs and kisses are gone; the two are at each other’s throats, with Deborah watching Ava hit the ground in a failed trust fall, and the two going mano e mano in race cars.
The 10-episode season of the Emmy-winning comedy debuts with two episodes, then one episode a week for four weeks. Episodes seven and eight debut together on May 15, followed by episode nine on May 22. The season finale debuts on May 29.
