‘Snow White’ Red Carpet Photos: Rachel Zegler, Gal Gadot, Marc Platt, Bob Iger & More

Snow White, Disney’s live-action reimagining of the 1937 animated classic (itself based on the darker Brothers Grimm German fairytale), had its world premiere at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre today ahead of its March 21 release in theaters. Notable attendees included, of course, titular princess Rachel Zegler and evil queen Gal Gadot, as well as Disney CEO Bob Iger and producer Marc Platt; also at the fete were enthusiastic girls donning yellow and blue, greeted by starlet Zegler, and members of the Boys and Girls Club of San Fernando and Malibu affected by the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year.

Other cast members walking the carpet were Martin Klebba, Lorena Andrea, Jason Kravits, Dujonna Gift and Indriss Kargbo. Broadway stars and cast members Tituss Burgess, Andrew Barth Feldman and Andrew Burnap were not in attendance.

According to a press release, guests were treated to a variety of activities, including a “forest friends grove with rabbits, professional glamour shots, a fairytale glam station, and opportunities to create your own jeweled crown, pocket mirror, and candy salad.”

Marc Webb directs from a script by Erin Cressida Wilson (with additional uncredited contribution from Greta Gerwig and others), with Marc Platt producing. Original songs for the pic were penned by the EGOT-winning La La Land duo of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

A famed fairytale retold for new generations, Snow White follows a princess who is rescued by seven dwarf miners who make her part of their household after she’s exiled into a dangerous forest by her wicked stepmother. You can view the trailer here.

Speaking to the backlash she has received as the movie’s young star, Zegler explained she interprets people’s feelings about it as “their passion for” the character. “What an honor to be a part of something for which people feel so much passion. We’re not always going to have the same sentiments as those around us and all that we can do is give the best of ourselves,” she said.
