Here’s your first look at Better Man, the musical biopic based on the life of former Take That frontman Robbie Williams. Check out the teaser trailer above.
Better Man is directed by Michael Gracey, best known for The Greatest Showman, and written by Simon Gleeson and Oliver Cole alongside Gracey. Starring are Jonno Davies, Steve Pemberton, Damon Herriman, Raechelle Banno, Alison Steadman, Kate Mulvaney, Frazer Hadfield, Tom Budge and Anthony Hayes. Williams also features, of course, but is portrayed in the flick by a CGI monkey. The ’90s rocker narrates the story.
Better Man is based on the true story of the meteoric rise, dramatic fall and remarkable resurgence of British pop superstar Williams. The film is uniquely told from Williams’ perspective, capturing his signature wit and indomitable spirit. It follows Robbie’s journey from childhood to being the youngest member of chart-topping boy band Take That, through to his record-breaking solo career – all the while confronting the challenges that stratospheric fame and success can bring.
