‘Here’ Trailer: Tom Hanks & Robin Wright Grow Younger In Robert Zemeckis’ ‘Forrest Gump’ Reteam

Tom Hanks and Robin Wright in Here movie

Sony has dropped the trailer for Robert Zemeckis’ TriStar/Miramax production Here, which reunites the filmmaker with his Forrest Gump team of Tom Hanks, Robin Wright and screenwriter Eric Roth. The studio decided recently to give the movie a wide release on November 15.

The crux of the movie follows as Vietnam-era teen Richard, played by Hanks, brings his girlfriend Margaret (Wright) to his home, one which they she’ll eventually settle into as his wife well into their 80s. Similar to how Zemeckis pushed VFX boundaries in Forrest Gump, he does again here with de-aging the actors. The pic is set in the same house through several decades, in fact in the trailer we see its assembly during colonial times.

Throughout the trailer, the camera is set at a fixed angle.

The feature is billed as “an original film about multiple families and a special place they inhabit. The story travels through generations, capturing the human experience in its purest form … a tale of love, loss, laughter and life, all of which happen right Here.”

Also starring is Paul Bettany and Kelly Reilly as Richard’s parents, Michelle Dockery, Gwilym Lee, David Fynn and Ophelia Lovibond.

Forrest Gump, even back in the day of its release in 1994, was an anomaly: a 2-hour and 22-minute drama that went on to gross over $678 million worldwide, ruled the post-Independence Day frame at the box office, and become an early Oscar frontrunner that year before eventually winning six Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director for Zemeckis and Best Actor for Hanks.
