Recontamination of water is a critical public health issue, especially in low and middle-income countries where access to safe water, proper storage, and sanitation is limited. Even after water is treated, studies show that up to 70% of it can become recontaminated during storage, handling, and transport in areas with poor infrastructure. Addressing this challenge requires a holistic approach—improving safe storage practices, promoting hygiene education, and making affordable water purification solutions available at the household level. Let’s ensure clean drinking water remains clean & safe from source to sip! Source: The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that up to 70% of households in rural settings may experience contamination of water between the access point and consumption, particularly in areas with limited infrastructure for sanitation and safe water storage (WHO/UNICEF, 2017). #WaterSafety #PublicHealth #Recontamination #CleanWater #HygieneEducation #SustainableSolutions

Preventing recontamination of drinking water is critical to ensuring safe, clean water access for all. One effective approach to limiting recontamination is combining household-level purification with safe storage practices. Innovative solutions like solar water disinfection (SODIS), endorsed by WHO, uses sunlight only to purify water. SODIS offers a simple yet powerful way to eliminate harmful pathogens right at the household level. Solutions such as our SaWa (Bags and Cans) integrate SODIS technology with clean, easy to use dispensing systems integrated to eliminate the risk of recontamination, making them ideal for communities facing challenges with water safety. #WaterSafety #HouseholdPurification #SODIS #Recontamination #CleanWater #InnovativeSolutions #SawaSolutions

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), recontamination of drinking water during storage and handling is a major concern, even after purification. Water most often become unsafe if stored in open or unclean containers. A combined approach is crucial: household-level water purification, such as solar disinfection or filtration, paired with safe storage methods like "closed systems"—containers with secure lids or taps that keep water sealed off from contaminants—can dramatically reduce the risk of waterborne diseases. This dual solution helps ensure water remains safe from source to sip. #WaterSafety #HouseholdPurification #CleanWater #HealthSolutions #SustainablePractices #WHO
