Earlier this month, Anders Stom, Head of Global Accounts, could celebrate a decade of dedication and success at Bunker Holding. 🎉 After studying shipping and logistics at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg and gaining a year of experience in the shipping industry, Anders sought an international opportunity to broaden his horizons. This ambition led him to Bunker Holding’s London office, where he began his career with us 10 years ago. Reflecting on his time at Bunker Holding, Anders praises the dynamic nature of the workplace and the strong support from management as key reasons for his long tenure. One of the highlights of his career came last year, when he was entrusted with managing the Global Account program of the group- an achievement he considers a significant milestone in his professional journey. About his overall job satisfaction he says: “I like the fact that my workplace is dynamic. The meetings with my colleagues, customers and suppliers in the industry energize me and make every day engaging.” At Bunker Holding, Anders enjoys an environment of mutual respect and opportunities for growth. As he looks ahead, he is excited about the possibilities that lie in the future. We are grateful for Anders’ contributions over the past decade. Congratulations on this impressive milestone! #employeemilestones #employeecelebrations

🌍 Bunker Holding Signs Call to Action on Green Hydrogen for Shipping 🌍 We are proud to announce that Bunker Holding has signed a call to action to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission fuel, announced yesterday at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. This commitment highlights our dedication to promoting a carbon-neutral future for the shipping industry. Bunker One expands into physical LNG supply. We’re excited to announce the launch of Bunker One’s physical LNG bunker supply in northwestern Europe starting January 2025! This expansion builds on our successful new fuel activities and supports the transition to a multi-fuel future. Our new division, Bunker One LNG BV, will be headed by Michael Behmerburg and will manage physical LNG and mass-balanced LBM (Liquefied Bio Methane) deliveries utilising the 10,000 cbm LNG bunker vessel Coral Fraseri (see image below). The initiative is the result of close collaboration between Bunker One and Bunker Holding’s Center of Excellence for New Fuels & Carbon Markets. “We're very excited about this move to include physical supply of LNG and LBM as part of Bunker Holding’s fuel offering, which builds on our successful activities supplying LNG through third parties. Fossil LNG can offer up to 23% GHG reductions compared to conventional fuels and accompanies shipping’s transition to a multi-fuel future. Therefore, we regard LNG as a stepping stone to bio-LNG and e-LNG, which will help the industry achieve the mid-century decarbonisation targets set by the IMO.” - Valerie Ahrens, Senior Director of New Fuels and Carbon Markets at Bunker Holding. We are proud to announce that we have joined forces with CEPSA to facilitate the supply of second-generation HVO to cruise line vessels in the Mediterranean through our subsidiary Glander International Bunkering. 🛳️ So far, CEPSA has completed four deliveries of HVO via Glander International Bunkering to a cruise ship at the Port of Barcelona since late June of this year. The second-generation biofuel is made from ISCC EU certified raw materials and can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional fuels throughout their life cycle. While CEPSA and Glander International Bunkering have ongoingly been engaging in direct dialogue around the specifics regarding last-mile delivery to the cruise ship, Bunker Holding’s very own Center of Excellence for New Fuels & Carbon Markets has played an instrumental role in facilitating the partnership: “Our partnership with Cepsa is a result of our diligent work to form alliances with strong suppliers of low-carbon fuels. As of late, we have been putting concerted effort into developing strategic partnerships with a view to facilitating the decarbonisation of the shipping industry. We are especially seeing an increase in the interest in biofuels and, with around 30 of our offices now being ISCC-certified, we have expanded our biofuels sales and the availability of biofuels to over 120 ports worldwide,” says Valerie Ahrens, Senior Director of News Fuels and Carbon Markets at Bunker Holding. For the next couple of weeks, the maritime industry will have all eyes turned towards the IMO building in London. IMO’s 175 Member States, NGOs, and other stakeholders will convene in order to find common ground and make progress on the so-called mid-term measures, namely an economic measure and a global fuel standard. Bunker Holding is already well underway in supporting clients in meeting the EU requirements, i.e. ETS and FuelEU Maritime, but like the rest of the maritime industry, we fully support global regulation. And with the ambitious target of a 20% absolute reduction by 2030, time is of the essence. Keld R. Demant, CEO of Bunker Holding, states: "For Bunker Holding, it’s crucial that policymakers follow suit and agree on regulatory measures that enable the maritime industry to fulfill the targets laid out in the 2023 Green House Gas Strategy. Although we don’t expect groundbreaking decisions at MEPC82, it’s of utmost importance that the Member States make the necessary compromises and establish the outline of the regulatory landscape that we need in order to be able to make the necessary investments." Bunker Holding has two main priorities: A Global Fuel Standard that sets strict limits on greenhouse gas emissions, thus stimulating the production of alternative fuels; and a price on emissions that can close the gap between fossil and alternative fuels. As part of our strategic initiatives to facilitate the transition of the shipping sector, we will participate in the IMO negotiations as part of the IBIA delegation. #IMO2024 #MEPC82 #GHGStrategy #MaritimeRegulations
