We’re delighted to share that the global interior magazine Wallpaper* has awarded the Spherical Bed in their annual design awards issue. “As reissue stories go, the Spherical Bed is an award-winning fairy tale of design, because it celebrates both the past and the future in one fell swoop.” Designed in 1938 by Kaare Klint, the bed was reissued in 2024 as part of Carl Hansen & Søn’s inhouse apprentice program THE LAB. Being too complex for a modern furniture production, the Spherical Bed is a perfect way for the future generation of cabinetmakers to be trained in traditional craftsmanship techniques. In the beginning of December, Carl Hansen & Søn supported the exhibition 'Hans J. Wegner: From Craftsman to Designer,' organized by Mobilia at the prestigious Albergo dei Poveri in Genoa, Italy, as part of the CARGO MARKET event.   The exhibition showcased Hans J. Wegner's iconic works, highlighting the excellence of Danish design and exceptional craftsmanship. In just two days, over 1,000 attendees, including architects, designers, and design enthusiasts, crossed the threshold of the exhibition, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with inspiration.   Thank you to everyone who visited.
