Does your portfolio of impact startups align with Impact VC expectations? If not… it’a about time to make it happen. As VC investor you need to provide the right coaching and tools for the startups in your portfolio to be 100% aligned with #ESG standards. At #ImpactBusinessModelingSystem we help VCs and accelerator VCs with exactly that. The risk of not doing this? The #impactstartups you have invested in, will most probably have a much, much harder and longer time to raise funds without ESG policies and reporting know how. Or not get funds at all. As of July 2023, a growing number of European venture capital funds have been classified under the EU's Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (#SFDR) as Article 8 or Article 9. Article 8 funds promote environmental or social characteristics, while Article 9 funds have sustainable investment as their objective. They will only invest in startups that have a clear and operational ESG Policy and can deliver #ESG data on their #impact. Such funds include the most ambitious European early stage investors, for instance Climentum Capital, Norrsken VC, Pale blue dot, World Fund , Antler, Rockstart, Planet A Ventures, StartMore Impact, LUMO Labs... Today our two partners Mikkel Trym and Richard Georg Engström kicked off our latest program about ESG & SFDR for startups, with a cohort of impact startups from our accelerator VC partner #GreenUP (DTU Science Park) in Denmark. The energy was high and we learned about “Double Materiality”, “SFDR”, “Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon calculations”, “How to design your ESG Policy”, "ESG Reporting standards" and much more. And in our strategic partnership with Worldfavor we onboarded the startups in the #Worldfavor ESG platform, to be able to set up a startup ESG report aligning with the EU Taxonomy regulation #SFDR.
