⚡️We at Cirqle believe in fun, excellence, and collaboration as pillars of our culture, and that was the theme for our retreat to Malaga. Every quarter, we gather as a team for a planning week to define and align our goals using the Objective and Key Results (OKR) goal-setting system. During this week, we brainstorm collectively to leverage all the knowledge within the team, using this insight to set our goals. Once the goals are set, each scientist devises strategies and plans to achieve them efficiently. A few times a year, we swap our Copenhagen office for an inspiring location—this time, the warm hills of Malaga. During the retreat, we cook together and carve out time between work sessions to unwind. This time this included jumping in the pool, enjoying taps, playing darts, and hiking the memorable Caminito del Rey and Torcal de Antequera. See you soon, Malaga 🌴!

I am excited to attend the 12th World Biomaterials Congress in Daegu, South Korea, from May 26th to 31st 2024. Ever wonder about the people and their work at Cirqle? Here’s a bit of insight into what Rebecca Nason's work days look like. Rebecca is a Senior R&D Scientist at Cirqle and holds a PhD from Copenhagen Center for Glycomics, where she focused her research on the glycosylation of mucin proteins. Her co-development of a mucus binding module, published in Nature Communications, underlines her experience in the field. Needless to say, her expertise in mucin biology makes her a valuable addition to our team. “What attracted me to Cirqle is the opportunity to join a team professionals who are passionate about making a difference, especially when it comes to #WomensHealth. I am proud of the work we are doing and the impact it is having. I am excited to continue to learn and grow with the company, and I am looking forward to the future of Cirqle.“ One of Rebecca’s responsibilities is to test the efficacy of formulations and to develop assays that optimise the screening process. Specifically, she tests the efficacy of molecules using an in-house developed in-vitro assay mimicking a mucus filled cervix. This is a key step in our formulation development that allows us to select promising candidates for in-vivo testing.
