I have experienced CON-LINQ being named a gazelle company, seen good colleagues come and go (that's how it is in our line of work), and in the early days traveled to different countries to watch Formula 1 with Mark and other colleagues. 🚢 **Navigating Uncertainty in Global Freight Forwarding** 🌐 In light of the recent geopolitical shifts and disruptions in key shipping hubs, it’s clear that the freight forwarding industry faces unprecedented challenges. The latest U.S. presidential election outcome, potential tariff changes, the looming East Coast port strike, prolonged port strikes in Canada, and ongoing crises in regions like the Red Sea all contribute to a turbulent global supply chain. These disruptions will potentially affect freight forwarding rates and quotes significantly. With uncertainty in demand surges, shifts in sourcing routes, and potential retaliatory tariffs impacting export flows, the ability to manage dynamic rate adjustments and respond swiftly is essential. The landscape of global trade is changing rapidly, with new tariffs, sourcing shifts, and region-specific disruptions reshaping the supply chain options. It is probably no surprise that I would advocate for digital solutions to mitigate some of these disruptions from a rating and qouting perspective, but no matter which way you as a freight forwarder or shipper work with this processes, I think it is fairly safe to say these processes and systems will be tested in the next couple of years. It’s time for the freight forwarders to turn these challenges into opportunities by showcasing efficiency, transparency, and excellent customer service with streamlined digital processes.
