Strategic Projects Team Day  A well-deserved team day with a French theme! 🥖🍷  The ladies wore berets, and the men were encouraged to put on their most Francophile outfits (open to interpretation, of course). 🎩  We kicked off a cozy afternoon at Boulebar, where Michael and Achebe claimed victory 🏆 over Semine, Morten, and Emilie – several times, in fact! It turns out Achebe had been hiding yet another hidden talent. 🎯  After pétanque and some refreshments 🍹, we made our way to Kongens Nytorv for dinner at a French bistro. The evening featured oysters 🦪, frog legs 🐸, fish 🐟, and steak béarnaise 🥩, while Semine enjoyed all the delicious vegetarian dishes 🥗. 

Building Strong Connections through Our Staff Community 🤝✨ Last Friday, our team enjoyed an evening filled with laughter 😂 at Comedy Zoo – just one of many activities organized by our Staff Community. At Contura, we place a high priority on fostering a strong sense of community through engaging, shared experiences outside of the workplace. 🌟  From film nights 🎬🍔 (complete with Pulp Fiction and burgers) to outings like the Crazy Christmas Cabaret 🎄, frisbee golf 🥏, and occasional Friday bars 🍻, we have the chance to unwind, connect, and recharge. These moments add to what makes Contura a fantastic place to work and remind us that a positive work environment is built on strong connections and great experiences. 💼💫 

Get to Know the People Behind Contura! 👥✨ We’re thrilled to introduce our team members in a new series of profiles – join us to meet the talented individuals who make Contura what it is. 🌟 Meet Emilie Mansfield or just Emi, as most people call her. 😊 Emilie is a Project Coordinator with a background in Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Management, focusing on green transition 🌍 and agile project management. Beyond her main degree, she's also trained as a buyer, a tailor, and a team-building coach – a pretty broad skill set! 🎓✂️👥 "During my interview process with Semine and Michael I was met with deep respect and empathy, not just for what was on my diploma or CV, but for who I am as a person. I remember asking Semine something like, 'What's the work environment like here at Contura? Do people have sharp elbows?' She gave me a gentle smile and said, 'Not at all. We don't do sharp elbows here. Teamwork is the way forward at Contura.'" Respect is the Contura value Emilie values the most. 💖 Emilie joined Contura in February 2024 after spending 10 years with Levi Strauss & Co. 🕒 Outside of work, she spends most of her time with her 3-year-old son 👶. When she's not with family, she's out with friends exploring new restaurants 🍽️ and discovering emerging artists 🎨. She's also into reformer workouts 💪. And, with the risk of being a bit divisive, she's very passionate about football ⚽ – with a deep love for Brøndby IF and Tottenham Hotspurs. When asked what she would say to others considering a job at Contura, Emilie replies, "Do it! You won't find a better workplace. The company is on an exciting growth journey – who wouldn't want to be part of that?" 🚀

When the Office Gets a Spooky Makeover! 🎃👻 Our office has been transformed into a haunted house! Between giant spiders, pumpkin pals, and skeletons lurking around, it's safe to say we’re in the Halloween spirit! 🕸️💀 Working through cobwebs and spooky shadows has never been more fun. Who knew filing cabinets and office plants could look so... haunting? Our Operations Manager Dines had his office 'Halloween bombed' by some of his employees.  Happy Halloween from our (haunted) Contura office! 🎃👻🕷️ 

🎉 Congratulations, Bente! 🎉 This week, we had the pleasure of celebrating Bente’s 75th birthday. Bente was one of the first employees at Contura International, alongside a handful of our other colleagues. Throughout our journey, Bente has held various roles and is currently responsible for Contura Orthopaedics Ltd sales in Denmark. She is also involved in onboarding new employees, telling Contura's history and always ready with stories and funny anecdotes about the company.   As per tradition, we celebrated with cake and our instrument song (as seen on the pictures). Bente chose the guitar and the flute, reminiscing about her days of practicing these instruments. Here’s to many more wonderful years with Bente! 🥳🎂🎶
