Additive Manufacturing Media made this video about Voxelfill and our partner NEW AIM3D GmbH. Learn more about our 3D printing software https://lnkd.in/d6FdUEd4
3D printing or injection molding? How about a little of both? Peter Zelinski reports from the NEW AIM3D GmbH booth at Formnext - Where ideas take shape. The company's Voxelfill technique blends 3D printing with injection molding to overcome the strength limitations of fused filament fabrication (FFF). This patented method uses injected material to reinforce the Z-axis of 3D printed parts, filling a hexagonal structure to improve durability. Particularly effective with reinforced polymers, Voxelfill randomizes fiber alignment for balanced strength. Follow us here and subscribe to our newsletter, The BuildUp, for more detailed coverage from #Formnext2024 (and AM reporting all year long). 🚀 Visit our booth in Hall 11, B69, to see automatic extraction and non-planar printing in action! We demonstrate how a regular printer can be transformed into a 24/7 production unit with automatic extraction. 🛠️ Our biggest news is non-planar printing. This innovative approach moves beyond stacking 2D layers by enabling the printhead to move in the Z-direction, guided by the software, to create a smooth and refined finish. ✨ Sounds simple? Watch Jeremie Pierre Gay explain how in the video, and make sure to stop by our booth! If you’re not attending Formnext - Where ideas take shape, you can still book a meeting with us at https://lnkd.in/d-mCSqT3. 📅

Strong partnerships, stronger 3D prints 💪 At Formnext - Where ideas take shape, we’re showcasing two innovative capabilities developed with our partners to enhance the strength of 3D-printed parts. Visit our booth in hall 11 B69 to explore these advancements and see how we can help bring your ideas to life. ✨ 🔍 Discover Voxelfill We’ve collaborated with NEW AIM3D GmbH to turn their vision into reality, and we’re thrilled to demonstrate how it’s revolutionizing 3D printing strength. With Voxelfill, you can achieve up to 81% of XY strength in the Z direction – that’s right, isotropic tensile strength in 3D printing! 💡 🛠️ Discover InterLace Interlocking and InterLace (featured in the video as Innerfill 3D) are two groundbreaking methods we’ve brought to life in partnership with ADDMAN. In the video, Engineering Manager Dan Saberton explains how these techniques work. 🎥 https://lnkd.in/dZZx77PZ

🚀 Introducing non-planar printing! At Formnext - Where ideas take shape, we’re redefining the future of 3D printing. Non-planar printing enables printers to move in all three dimensions, unlocking smoother surfaces, stronger parts, and exciting new possibilities in additive manufacturing. 🎯 For orthopedic insoles: This innovation eliminates the "layer staircase" effect by wrapping a slicing plane around the insole's curves. The result is a seamless, high-quality surface ideal for comfort and precision. 💡 Why it matters: While non-planar printing has existed, our unique auto-generated slicing plane takes it to the next level. It adapts effortlessly to your printer’s capabilities, optimizing for enhanced surface quality and performance. 🌟 What’s next: Today, it’s about aesthetics, but we’re also paving the way for advancements in directional strength, reduced supports, and more. 📍 Visit us at Hall 11, Booth B69, to see it in action! - read the full story https://lnkd.in/dZM93mUS
