We are happy to share key Insights from the recently launched DelHus knowledge project. This project explores the potential of meeting Denmark's projected housing demand by redistributing the existing building stock. By mapping and sharing knowledge on the subdivision of single-family homes, it presents a precise solution for addressing society’s housing needs within safe and just planetary boundaries. The proposal is open source and available for download and use in English and Danish: https://lnkd.in/dJRVJXxP The DelHus Knowledge project is a collaboration between EFFEKT and V!GØR for the Forening Del Hus and is funded by Bevar Mere. You are always welcome to reach out to us to learn more.

We are thrilled that EFFEKT-Ramboll is among the five teams invited to the competition to bring Trapholt’s expansion vision to its fullest potential. We look forward to collaborating closely to further develop the vision for the future museum experience, ensuring it meets growing interest and strengthens its role as an inspiring gathering place for both locals and visitors. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to Trapholt’s evolution—where art, architecture, and landscape beautifully come together by Kolding Fjord. We share the ambition to use sustainable solutions that contribute to an environmentally responsible and future-proof development of the museum. A big thank you to Trapholt and Karen Holdaway Grøn as well as bygherrerådgiver Tegnestuen Mejeriet — congratulations to the other selected teams! In the autumn, we were selected to participate in the competition to design and transform the new hospice for Sankt Lukas Stiftelsen in Hellerup. A meaningful project that would accommodate a mobile care team, Denmark’s first day hospice, and specialized departments for children, young people, and adults. Our proposal for the new Sankt Lukas is designed with user needs at its core. Four key values—care and presence, dignity and respect, nature and life outdoors, and security and homeliness—form the foundation of the design. These values guide every decision, ensuring an architecture that fosters an atmosphere of comfort, care, and dignity for patients, families, and staff. The hospice is designed to complement its historic surroundings, introducing a new scale and quality to the area. Poetic gardens are central to the project, integrating nature into the built environment to engage the senses and enhance well-being. The design carefully balances privacy and community with both private rooms that provide peaceful retreats and access to gardens, and shared spaces that encourage connection and support. Natural materials, soft transitions between spaces, and a focus on daylight and greenery create a setting that feels both familiar and uplifting. Environmental responsibility is integral to the project, with a low-carbon footprint achieved through recycled materials and energy-efficient design. Thank you to C.F. Møller Architects and Artelia Denmark for the collaboration, to Sankt Lukas Stiftelsen for inviting us to participate in the competition and congratulations to BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group and creo arkitekter a/s on the winning proposal – we look forward to following you and the project in the years to come! The new Sankt Lukas Hospice has been made possible thanks to generous donations from Den A.P. Møllerske Støttefond (A.P. Møller Fonden) and Sorana.

Our transformation of the Danish State Veterinary Serum Laboratory has been nominated for the 2025 Renovation Award (Renoverprisen), presented by Grundejernes Investeringsfond and Realdania. The award honors outstanding renovation projects and highlights renovation as a vital discipline. The former laboratory has been converted into 18 bright and elegant apartments of varying sizes with architectural features such as high ceilings, large windows, sculptural staircases, new balconies, and skylights—all while respecting the building’s original architecture and history. A key focus has been on reusing and preserving as much of the existing structures as possible. The front building from 1908 retains its original classic mansion style, featuring iconic curved windows, a refined entrance, and rich ornamentation, while the functionalist back building from 1934 has been carefully restored, with its aesthetic reflected in materials, colors, and details. Although permission was granted to demolish the back building, we chose to preserve it. The 30s-era functionalist structure had significant architectural value and was transformed into a resource rather than waste, reducing CO₂ impact. The building reflects a bygone era and the distinctive character of Frederiksberg, also known for its backhouses and gradual expansions, while the overall transformation preserves its quality and unique atmosphere. Thank you Nrep and NIRAS for a wonderful collaboration. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dTFHQ2CW

Together with emerging architecture firm Jespersen Nødtvedt and Artelia Denmark, EFFEKT will transform an 1,800-square-meter industrial hall into a creative hub and new headquarters for Roskilde Festival Group. The transformation of the industrial hall aims to set new standards for recycling in construction. "We need clients like Roskilde Festival Group, who dare to lead and contribute to driving the green transition in the construction industry. The vision is to create a beacon for recyclability by transforming the old, raw Hal 9 into a new open and generous meeting place in the Musicon district. The construction industry needs pioneering projects that dare to test new solutions, inspiring others. That’s why we are incredibly proud to have been chosen as the overall consultant for the project and look forward to realizing it together with the new young talents, Jespersen Nødtvedt." Says Tue Hesselberg Foged, Co-founder and Creative Director, EFFEKT. Read more about the project here: https://lnkd.in/d2D-Z6RD

We are part of the research project Genbrug på matriklen (Reuse On-Site), led by Arkitektskolen Aarhus and supported by Realdania. This initiative, spearheaded by Lotte Marianne Bjerregaard Jensen, brings together an exciting lineup of collaborators, including DTU - Technical University of Denmark, CEBRA, Anna Mette Exner Arkitektur, Arkitema, JJW ARKITEKTER, Søren Jensen, Kingo Karlsen, P. Olesen, JDH-BYG, Videncenter for Cirkulær Økonomi i Byggeriet - VCØB, GreenDozer, and Milva. In a recent debate article, we joined the conversation about how circular building practices can be more effective by learning from the meticulousness of cultural heritage projects rather than adhering to the efficiency-driven standards of standard construction. For circular construction to succeed, industry norms and frameworks must adapt. This shift requires: 👉 Collaborative engagement with engineers: Real-time assessments of load-bearing capacity and material quality are essential, especially for reused structural components. 👉 A reimagined design process: Rather than specifying custom components, we must tailor designs to align with the materials available. 👉 Updated contracts and frameworks: Existing models must accommodate the intricacies of reuse and transformation projects. 👉 Ample time and iterative development: Circular projects require deeper analysis and more design iterations than standard construction. The path forward combines the precision of cultural heritage projects with the innovative drive of modern construction. This hybrid baseline is essential for leveraging reused and bio-based materials while supporting sustainability goals. Read the full article (in Danish) in Byrummonitor here: https://lnkd.in/dEJ2KWCY
