Last week, our stand at EMEX London was buzzing! But the real highlight for us was when Malte Frederiksen and Afolabi Sanusi (Energy Project Manager, London Borough of Hounslow), shared Hounslow’s progress and path towards Net Zero on the stage.  Supported by Greater London Authority, Hounslow will be using Ento to help reach its Net Zero goals as part of the ‘Net Zero 2030 Target for Greater London’. Ento’s first step will focus on analysing the borough’s electricity and gas consumption to uncover areas of potential energy savings. ⚡ “I was amazed how much waste energy that can be saved by a few simple changes to settings,” says Charles Pipe, Energy Manager at London Borough of Hounslow.

How do you optimise energy in a hospital that never sleeps – without compromising patient care? 🤔🏥 The energy team at Regionshospitalet Randers in Region Midtjylland faces unique challenges on a daily basis: ➡️ With spaces ranging from sterile operating theatres to offices with lower off-hour demands, energy use varies greatly. ➡️ Identifying savings while maintaining patient safety and complying with strict hygiene standards is no small task. Many buildings today have HVAC systems that are controlled by Building Management Systems (BMS) – but the data inside these systems is often inaccessible. 🤷♀️ Consequently, analysing the data and energy optimising ventilation and heating based on the insights is impossible – until now. 𝐖𝐞’𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞. 🙌 By installing a gateway, we can unlock the full potential of a building’s current BMS without any large investments. This gives us real-time data and the ability to use AI-powered predictive control to optimise energy usage and occupant comfort. We recently sent Ento’s data scientist Poul Høst Ejlertsen and control engineer Jonathan Juncker Schougaard on a mission to the municipality of Holstebro to install a gateway in an elementary school and put this solution to the test. 👨💻 We now have full access to the data and control of the system – and can help the school save energy while ensuring a comfortable environment for students and teachers.
