How do we ensure the best possible client experience while fostering growth and development for our employees? At Harper & Vedel, we are committed to delivering high-quality results for our clients, as well as to supporting the continuous growth of our employees. Our mentorship initiative is a good example of how we put this into action.   At H&V, junior consultants work on client projects in close proximity with a senior consultant, who supports delivering quality results to the clients, while at the same focus as their mentor guiding them to applying theoretical knowledge to real industrial situations, thrive in complex environments, and develop skills such as communication and project management.   We believe the key to make this work is finding the right chemistry between mentor and mentee’ interests and skills, and matching it well with the client’s task. In a work environment as dynamic as our, finding the right match can sometimes be a complex endeavor. But we are happy to do it, because succeeding at it creates a powerful positive ripple effect: - Our younger employees get support and inspiration from experienced consultants, and learning-by-doing continuous education and development. Mentors learn from that too! - Our clients benefit from high-quality project delivery with the mentor helping the mentee to focus their energy and apply their knowledge. - Harper & Vedel strengthens our talent capital while maintaining H&V core values that have driven our success.   The mentorship program has been part of H&V’s approach since its start back in 2012. Today, half of our consultants have developed through this system, and are recognized for their passion and competence! 

Welcome to the H&V, Morten Vormsborg Christiansen! 👏 Morten joined Harper & Vedel in September 2024, bringing loads of knowledge and experience with him. Since joining, Morten has involved himself in multiple projects performing capacity analysis and optimization studies, designing and commissioning utility systems, and performing conceptual design for OEB (Occupational Exposure Band)-facilities. Morten holds a PhD in Dairy Processing Technologies, which he finished in 2020. After that, he spent a few years living in Trondheim, Norway, where he worked as a Process Engineer and advisor in the food industry, focusing on CIP. When he moved back to Denmark, he worked as an engineer in Clean Utilities before finding his way to us at H&V. Outside of work, Morten lives with his partner and their 1.5-year-old daughter. He’s a big fan of the outdoors and enjoys cross-country skiing, mountain hikes, campfires, and just being out in nature. We’re so happy to have Morten on the team! 🚀

Last Friday, we gathered for our annual christmas party at Bernstorff Castle. As always, it was a huge success! The walk through Bernstorff Park in the snowy darkness was tough, but the sight of the castle illuminated with Christmas lights made it all worthwhile. What made it even better was the great food, the laughter, the shared joy, and, of course, the obligatory music quiz. Events like this are a great way for us to connect with each other, have fun, and celebrate everything we’ve achieved together this year together. A big thanks to all our colleagues for making this night so joyful 🌲

Welcome to Harper and Vedel as an Analyst, Jens Winther Hartvig! 🌱 Since joining us in June, Jens has been working on a client project applying Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) with focus on scaling of mixing tanks. His work helps reducing large-scale experiments, saving both time and resources. Jens graduated in March after completing his thesis that also applied CFD. He holds an MSc in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from DTU, specializing in Fermentation Based Manufacturing. True to his chemical engineering roots, he enjoys baking sourdough and experimenting with fermentation – from beer and cider to pickled vegetables. He is born in Denmark and raised in California and spends a lot of his time in DTU’s climbing club. We have already been lucky enough to have Jens on the team for almost 5 months, and we are excited to see even more of his great work! 🌟

Brushing up on our GMP knowledge! 💡 Earlier this year, the GMP experts from ImproveMatic held a course at H&V. With new colleagues joining us over the summer, we figured it was the perfect time to refresh our GMP knowledge to stay on top of industry trends. In the session, we talked about GxP and why it’s so important. With our varied GMP backgrounds and experience levels, we had some great discussions, shared real-life industry stories, and talked about industry trends and key focus areas from regulatory authorities. 🔆 Last week wrapped up perfectly with a memorable company trip to Båstad, Sweden 🔆 H&V spent two days attending a seminar focused on tools that enhance our daily work as consultants, covering both internal and external development. Outside the seminars, we enjoyed a morning run together followed by a refreshing swim in the sea. In true engineering spirit, we teamed up to build water-powered rockets and competed to see whose could stay airborne the longest. We also took time to relax in the spa, sauna, and sea, and were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the northern lights. 🌌 Evenings were spent over great dinners, filled with laughter, conversations and games. 😊 These trips are highly valuable for us at H&V, as they allow us to combine professional growth with social connection. It’s experiences like these that make H&V such a great place to work! 🌟

Harper & Vedel once again took part in the annual DHL run 🏃♀️🏃♂️ Despite the warm weather, our runners gave their best, while the cheer squad provided strong support - values that align perfectly with our daily work at H&V, where we each strive to do our best, backed by the encouragement of our colleagues as we work towards our goals 💫 We enjoyed a day filled with running, delicious food, beautiful weather, fun conversations, laughter, and each other's company. 🗣🌞😁 A big thank you to Sparta Atletik and DHL for organizing such a wonderful event that celebrates movement and togetherness. We headed home with tired bodies but light spirits after a wonderful evening 🍃
