In drug development, the correct formulation should be considered sooner than one might think. Underestimation and wrongful interpretation of the in vivo potential of the drug substance candidate may occur, if the correct formulation or drug delivery concept is not considered early in the development process. Several factors determine the choice of an optimal formulation: ✅ Intention to target systemic action, a specific organ, central organs, or peripheral tissue ✅ Presence of active transport mechanisms, local and systemic enzymatic degradation, blood half-life, other clearance mechanisms (e.g. kidney, lymph) ✅ Target pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profile ✅ Desired dosing regime ✅ Properties of the active substance The desired formulation and route of administration is an integral part of the target product profile (TPP). Today, we hosted Science for Breakfast at Medicon Village😊This great initiative facilitates networking and knowledge sharing among scientists and entrepreneurs and today, Rasmus Nelund, our CEO had the pleasure of presenting KLIFO and our service areas to the many “early risers” in the Village. Suddenly, there was a cosy fireplace… in an office… on the fifth floor! That is when you know that your colleagues are second to none😊 The fireplace wasn’t there when we all came in in the morning. But later in the afternoon there were suddenly crackling fire sounds coming from one of the back offices, and people seemed to be having an awful good time in there. We just had to find out what was going on… And there it was: Our new favourite spot in the Glostrup office👏 The mastermind behind this brilliant idea and our own “fireplace installer” is our colleague Jørn Drustrup. We all know that Jørn is an excellent Senior CMC expert, but none of us knew about his expertise when it comes to designing fireplaces for the office🌟 Now, the fireplace has already been decorated for Halloween, and many of us are thinking about what we can do for Christmas… One thing is for sure: We do hope the fireplace is here to stay, Jørn – thank you😊   #Hygge #DrugDevelopment #StrategicAdvice #OperationalSupport #KLIFO
