Did you know the recycled wool yarn in Re-wool 2's warp is spun from post-industrial fibre scraps collected from our woollen textile production in the UK? By closing this loop with our production partner, Wooltex, we ensure consistently high quality in every batch while reducing wool fibre waste to nearly zero. Crafted with 45% recycled wool, Re-wool 2 is available in 25 colourways, designed by Danish textile and colour designer Margrethe Odgaard. Nan Goldin's retrospective 'This Will Not End Well' is now on display at the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin. We are proud to have supported the exhibition with 2,600 metres of textile, creating a village of slideshows from six textile buildings. Each of these spaces is meticulously crafted to complement specific artworks. Among the array of works on display is one of Goldin’s masterpieces: The Ballad of Sexual Dependency (1982–2022). This slideshow, comprising nearly 700 images, captures the artist’s experiences in New York during the 1970s and 1980s, offering an authentic portrayal of a generation amidst the eruption of the AIDS epidemic in her community. This exhibition was created in close collaboration with HW Architecture and architect Hala Wardé. Originally designed for the US Navy in the 1940s, Emeco’s 1011 Navy chair is shown here in a rich teal shade of Vanir by Kvadrat/Raf Simons – a felted woollen textile inspired by historical woollen military coats, created through an exacting technique that produces a dense yet soft felt with dissolved but distinct speckles of colour from the bouclé yarn. Fresh colours in wool at the Kvadrat Febrik production site. We make textiles slowly, ensuring they last for decades. While we continuously explore ways to reduce the impact of our production processes, we focus on energy-efficient methods and sustainable raw materials. For instance, to reduce our consumption of resources, we reuse water, including rainwater, during the production of our knitted textiles. Salmon Eye, a floating art installation on Norway’s Hardangerfjord, houses the Michelin-starred Restaurant Iris, where Norm Architects’ interior design harmonises with Kvorning Design's striking ellipsoid structure, creating an inviting atmosphere within its bold architecture. Kvadrat Acoustics has seamlessly integrated a bespoke acoustic solution across the ceiling and walls of the ellipsoid interior. This continuous surface is designed to enhance auditory and visual comfort, with a textile that transitions gradually from dark at the base to light at the top of the building, harmonising sound and aesthetics for an unforgettable dining experience.
