The Story of the Kevi Chair In 1958, Jørgen Rasmussen introduced a design that would forever change the way we sit: the Kevi chair. Initially conceived for offices and laboratories, this chair wasn’t just about aesthetics – it was about engineering a solution for productivity and comfort. What made the Kevi Chair revolutionary? The double-wheel castor, invented by Rasmussen in 1965, provided greater mobility and stability, making it a staple in dynamic work environments. Rasmussen offered up his design to the world for free and the double-wheel castor – the design originally inspired by the wheels of airplanes – is now what you see on virtually every office chair design around the world. A clean, modern design that fits seamlessly into any space while prioritising ergonomic support. The Kevi chair quickly became a global phenomenon, proving that simplicity and functionality can coexist beautifully. Rasmussen once said, "Good design is not just about beauty; it’s about improving lives." The Kevi chair embodies this philosophy in every detail. #KeviChair #JørgenRasmussen #DesignInnovation #FurnitureDesign

In episode 6 of The Sound of Colour, Sarah Gottlieb is joined by Emanuele Stamuli and Alessandro Bruzzone from Stamuli AB – an architectural studio renowned for designing high-end stores, residential spaces, and innovative furniture. With clients like Acne Studios, Ganni, and Alexander Wang, they blend rational design with a love for sustainability, textures, geometry, and – of course – colour. The conversation explores how colours can transform a room’s atmosphere, elevate brand identity, and convey emotions and stories. The episode wraps up with “The Sound of a Colour” – a musical experiment by Andy Wiseman capturing the essence of pink. It’s a vibrant chat that, as Sarah puts it, feels like being part of a lively Italian family. 🎧 Listen to episode 6 of The Sound of Colour here: https://lnkd.in/dgwSD-Hb #montanafurniture #thesoundofcolour #colourpodcast #design
