Hygienic solutions based on in-depth partnerships and developed through state-of-the-art engineering

Om os

NGI was founded back in 1972, as Nordjysk Gummi Industri by manufacturer and engineer Knud Nygaard. The company manufactured rubber and metal compounds - especially in stainless steel, which was used in the food and pharmaceutical industry, among other things. Due to increasing sales on the export market, Nordjysk Gummi Industri changed its name to NGI. In 1990, NGI moves to the current locations Virkelyst 5 in Nørresundby to get more space. Today, NGI is a highly specialized niche company that supplies hygienic components such as levelling feet, castors, bearing housings, etc. to machine builders and brand owners around the world. In 2008 a generational handover was completed, so the North Jutland growth company today is being managed by Jan Nygaard, the son of the founder. In 2018 the Habasit Group acquired the majority stake in NGI – being part of Habasit’s global network NGI will be able to expand its market coverage and product portfolio at an accelerated rate. In 2018 in accordance to our vision, NGI Hygienic levelling system became NGI Hygienic Components, symbolizing the expansion of our previous product range, changing from a single product segment, into a new uniqe assortment of high quality certified hygienic components. Our customers can now at NGI source several different certified hygienic components for their machinery and equipment. NGI will continue to add new hygienic components to its growing portfolio. NGI plans to continue the positive development and to exploit the significant growth potential at an international level. Customers and suppliers can look forward to a continuation of the company’s quality and service level and a further professionalization of its operations.

  • Production installations and hygiene doesn’t always match up. But in the food industry, both are needed.  What to do? Steve Voelzke from Robroy® Industries has a suggestion:  👉🏼 OEMs & construction companies in the sector must consider both, and maybe even merge the two to take a holistic approach to building for the food industry. Ask yourself: ❓Where do installation standards match hygienic ones? ❓Where are discrepancies—and where are the best comprimises? ❓Do you include production installations in the hygienic design? 💡 By considering how these standards work in harmony, we can develop products and solutions that tackle industry challenges head-on.  Do you consider e.g. electrical installations in your machine design? Let us know in the comments ⤵️  (also, find the full episode of Behind Clean Lines podcast in your favorite podcast app)

  • Automation = Better Jobs As Nate Harrison from Phoenix Innovation says, automation will take over tasks.  But will it also take over jobs? We’re not so sure. 🤔 As monotonous tasks, heavy lifting, and low value-adding tasks are taken over by machines, our goal is to create high-value jobs along the way.  - For safer food production - For stronger business cases - For better working conditions  - For everyone. 💭 Does automation drive development at your company?

  • 🚢 Cruiseliner or Speed Boat 🛥️ Which organisation are you?   Market dynamics change daily.  Consumer preferences evolve.  Innovation is relentless.   Without the ability to pivot quickly, the customer experience takes a hit, and ultimately, you lose.   Agility isn’t just a buzzword; it's a critical pillar of success in the food industry.   So, let’s take that speedboat mentality.  Challenge your teams to think creatively.  Be resourceful.  Respond swiftly.   Your customers will appreciate it—and so will your bottom line.   Agree?

  • Hygienic Design is Not Just for Equipment It’s for the Entire Food Factory 🏭 “Hygienic Design” if most often used by OEMs.  It’s used about equipment design. About process design.  But rarely with a holistic perspective.  Rarely about the production layout. 🧠 It’s time we change that mindset.  🧼 It’s time we design for cleaning. ✨ Design food plants for hygiene.  Find the full interview with Thomas Buehler here:  https://lnkd.in/eZaTkeTW
