  • NTU at the DG INTPA Conference on Migration in Central Asia On November 20, NTU International A/S participated in the DG INTPA conference "Migration and Border Cooperation in Central Asia - State and Civil Society Approaches." The event brought together key stakeholders to discuss migration challenges, share best practices, and strengthen collaboration between governments, civil society, and international partners. Two flagship EU programmes were highlighted: 👉 BOMCA: Aimed at improving cross-border cooperation to enhance living conditions in border areas, with a focus on human rights, gender equality, and vulnerable groups. Despite challenges such as restrictive NGO regulations and administrative barriers, efforts to build trust, monitor legislative changes, and strengthen NGO capacity were identified as important. 👉 PROTECT: Showcased the work of Migrant Resource Centres (MRCs) in supporting informed migration decisions, promoting legal pathways, and raising awareness of migration risks. MRCs offer vital services such as counselling, community outreach, capacity-building, and reception services for returnees, with a focus on trust-building and local engagement. The conference also highlighted the importance of practical capacity-building, such as small-group training and tools like log frame development, while emphasizing sustainability, human rights, and gender equality as cross-cutting priorities. NTU is proud to support these initiatives and looks forward to furthering sustainable migration policies in Central Asia and beyond.
