THE ROLE INTAKE MEETING, or role kick-off Getting this right at the start will set you up for success A meeting between Hiring Manager and the Talent Partner/Recruiter Dedicate a full hour. Make time for a true deep dive. Let me summarise some of the key areas you must cover: General Information The role title and details Why does the role now exist? Desired start date (always ASAP! Are there candidates in mind before starting the process The Role Deep dive into all areas of the role What does a typical day looks like? Is there a specific project, or product to develop? Success and Metrics What are the challenges this person must solve? What are the career development opportunities? What are the KPIs used to measure performance? What would success look like in 3, 6, 12 months? The Requirements - Discuss what's needed to succeed Ideally, come away with 3-5 key criteria This can then be used in the job advert And forms screening questions for the interview stage Salary + Benefits - Get the full breakdown know the salary range that can be offered We can then be upfront with candidates at the start Ensure there is a fit from a compensation perspective Interview Process - The duration Who is involved Who covers what Ideally no more than 3 stages Every interview focus has clear value Lastly, align on the recruitment timeline Finish the meeting with clarity and ownership.
