Meet Kristian Holst, our new Account Executive! 👋 Kristian joined our commercial team six months ago and has been an integral part of our commercial efforts ever since. We’ve sent him traveling across Denmark to meet with companies, explore the benefits of PPAs, and source the best lunch spot for smørrebrød! With his expertise in the energy industry, he’s helping companies choose electricity that enables their financial and sustainability goals. Kristian’s journey into energy is anything but typical. Before spending three years in the energy sector - and now joining Reel - Kristian served in the Royal Danish Air Force ✈️. Kristian’s jump from military to energy came from his fascination with the green transition and its challenges and opportunities. We asked him a few questions and here’s what he had to say: 💚 Why Reel? "It's important that I contribute to steering society in the right direction, and Reel gave me an opportunity to do so by working to accelerate the energy transition. A rapid rollout of renewable energy will not only mitigate climate change but also help lower electricity prices. And low electricity prices are crucial for continued innovation." 🤔 What’s the most common misconception people have about the energy system? "Electricity doesn't become greener and cheaper on its own— it takes action and innovation. PPAs do both." 🏃♂️ What is one of your resolutions for 2025? "In 2025, I hope to complete an ultra-marathon, a personal milestone that I have been working towards in 2024. Speaking of steps, I also hope that 2025 will bring us yet another step away from fossil fuels - it’s a long road but we will get there one step at a time." We're grateful to have you Kristian! Meet Bita Abadi, our new Senior Account Executive! Bita joined our commercial team earlier this fall, bringing over 10 years of experience in business development. At Reel, she is focusing on sales, business development and refining our go-to-market strategy. Throughout her career, Bita has been driven by client relationships, understanding their needs and challenges, and helping them reach their business objectives. She believes that sustainability should be at the core of business strategy, alongside sales, production, and marketing, to ensure businesses are future-fit. We asked her a few questions and here’s what she had to say: 💚 Why Reel? "Reel is the kinder egg I was looking for: a Danish company working at the intersection of tech and climate impact. Add to that a team of skilled and passionate colleagues who go to work every day to accelerate the energy transition in Denmark and I had to join." 🌿 How do you think companies can best integrate sustainability into their business strategy? "An effective approach I’ve seen in the companies I speak with is to focus on enhancing market position. Different stakeholders—including investors, customers, and employees—increasingly favour businesses committed to sustainability. These commitments can differentiate a company, attract eco-conscious customers, and open doors to new markets. Sustainability isn’t just a value-driven choice - it’s a competitive advantage." 🇯🇵 What’s the best trip you’ve taken recently? "I had high expectations before my trip to Japan—and it was more than I imagined. I fell in love with Tokyo. The cool local neighbourhoods, each with their own vibe - the architecture (I even went building hunting!) - the cuisine and coffee experiences were insanely good (I haven’t learned to love matcha yet) - the culture, the stylish locals, the parks, and the museums, I could go on.
