🟢 In Somaliland, the main part of the higher education system consists of four public universities and more than 20 private universities. University of Hargeisa (UoH) - established in 1999 - is the biggest with more than 7,000 registered students. 🟢 Currently, Danida and the Danida Fellowship Centre is supporting the “Building Stronger Universities (BSU Phase IV (2023-2027)) programme in a partnership between UoH and Danish universities with a view to strengthen collaborative efforts in developing local institutional and research capacity. 🟢 Today, representing Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen (UCPH) I had the privilege of continuing the nice collaboration with UoH colleagues in yet another activity, namely the co-creation of a new UoH course on 👉 “Research Management and Leadership”. 🟢 Over three days we will engage in an active, creative process of content development for a management course that eventually is to be delivered by UoH administrative, research and educational staff to UoH PhD-students and early career researchers. 🟢 We will combine our ideas for joint outputs leading to contextual, sustainable learning activities for Somaliland researchers in spe. 🟢 I am looking forward to the next step early next year on “training-of-research management trainers” – the UoH staff who will ultimately take full charge of course implementation for the next generations of UoH researchers and graduates.
