SPACE CURIOSITY 🛰 𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐬 Orbits are the paths objects follow around other objects due to gravity. For example, the Moon orbits Earth, and Earth orbits the Sun. These orbiting objects, called satellites, can be natural (like moons and planets) or artificial (Like satellites we use for purposes like communication, weather monitoring, and research) 🌚 Two common orbits for satellites are: LEO (Low Earth Orbit): LEO is used for satellite imaging telecommunication and space stations due to its proximity to Earth, ranging from 160 to 2,000 km above. Satellites near 160 km travel at 7.8 km/s, completing an orbit in 66 minutes, while those near 2,000 km travel slower completing an orbit in 127 minutes. GEO (Geostationary Orbit): GEO is 35,786 km from Earth, used mainly for weather monitoring and telecommunications. Satellites here travel at 3 km/s, matching Earth’s rotation, staying fixed over one spot. This orbit covers large areas and provides global coverage with fewer satellites. By the way, do you know which orbit our Sternula-1 satellite is in?🌍🚀 #SpaceCuriosity #TypesOfOrbits #Science #Satellites #Space

Bridging Continents through Innovation 🌏🤝 We had the pleasure of having Principle Scientist, D Kumaran Raju, from the Indian National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts (NTCPWC) at our office last week! It was an inspiring opportunity to share our company’s vision, showcase the latest updates on #AIS2.0 and Sternula’s MMS Proxy Ship. Dr. Raju presented how NTCPWC is working to digitalize inland waterways, in particular around the big rivers connecting India and Bangladesh. Exchanging ideas and insights remind us of the incredible value of global perspectives in driving innovation and fostering mutual understanding. 🌐 Dr. Raju’s visit was a chance to extend our collaboration between NTCPWC and Sternula. Sternula is proud to be a partner to NTCPWC's ambition and vision on a national test setup of AIS 2.0 #VDES test bed in India. Proving again that Sternula is the world leader in #AIS 2.0. Here’s to more international connections and shared successes! 🇮🇳💡 #Innovation #MaritimeTech #AIS2.0 #VDES

SPACE CURIOSITY 🛰 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐬: 𝐀 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲  Ever wondered how ancient theories still shape our technology today? Johannes Kepler's groundbreaking laws, published between 1609 and 1619, revolutionized our understanding of planetary motion around the Sun and laid the groundwork for modern astronomy. 🚀📡   Johannes Kepler’s three fundamental laws describe the motion of planets around the Sun, revolutionizing our understanding of the cosmos. Kepler’s laws were later generalized to any body orbiting another and were crucial in the development of Isaac Newton’s theory of universal gravitation.   These principles not only helped describe planetary orbits but also influenced everything from satellite technology to innovations in global maritime communications today. 🚢   Learn more about Kepler’s laws from our website article! 🌐 #SpaceCuriosity #Astronomy #KeplersLaws #Science #Space #Physics

Meet the beautiful Danish inspection ship, Poul Løwenørn, operated by the Danish Maritime Authority (DMA). 🛳 The vessel came to Aalborg on a sunny Saturday in early November, and we used the opportunity to upgrade its VDES/MMS installation, which is an important element of the testbed of the MaDaMe project, a maritime digitalization project with participation by maritime industry leaders and academia together with the maritime authorities of Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Estonia. The installation allows us to test AIS 2.0 technology in Danish waters and push forward in enhancing maritime connectivity and safety.   Two weeks ago, all project partners gathered in Gdynia, Poland, to review the achievements of the past year and plan for the next two years. The project is truly moving forward at full speed! 🚢    Stay tuned for more updates from the MaDaMe project, which is supported by Interreg Baltic Sea Region! 🌊    #MaDaMeProject #MadeWithInterreg #VDES #AIS2
