#pyrolyse #biokul

Today, we are pleased to announce our new floating wind partnership with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), a global leader in renewable energy investments. Stiesdal Offshore has developed the world’s first truly industrialized floating wind foundation technology, called Tetra. Since December 2021, our floating wind turbine TetraSpar Demonstrator has been operating at 200 meters depth off the coast of Norway with a recorded availability of 97.0% and 98.3% in its first two years, respectively. Joining forces with CIP, we aim to establish Stiesdal Offshore as a long-term leader in the floating wind industry, driving innovation and cost efficiency. We will now initiate a plan to expand the business scope from designing and developing floating foundations to becoming a one-stop shop for floating wind enablement. Peder Nickelsen, CEO of Stiesdal Offshore, says: “We have a clear plan to reduce the CAPEX of floating wind and have developed more than 30 specific initiatives to achieve this goal. The investment from CIP will enable us to accelerate these efforts and strengthen our market position as we prepare for large-scale commercial deployment of floating offshore wind in the coming years." Michael Hannibal, partner at CIP, adds: "We remain committed to floating offshore wind which we believe will play an important role in the global energy transition. This investment is the next step in our pursuit of large-scale floating wind projects, and together with Stiesdal Offshore we look forward to working towards advancing floating wind technology, overall project execution, and cost reduction.” Market intelligence estimate the global floating wind project pipeline at 200-400 GW, with the majority expected to be operational by 2050. What a week we had inaugurating our SkyClean pyrolysis plant in Vrå, Denmark! Take a moment to watch the highlights from the event, including the iconic moment when three government ministers and a mayor symbolically spread biochar. Around 250 guests, including our entire SkyClean team, attended. Another event highlight was the opportunity to demonstrate the power of #pyrolysis and #biochar as a climate solution by permanently offsetting the emissions from all travel to and from the event (and more) in under an hour. This was achieved through the spreading of 20 tons of freshly produced biochar on the surrounding field. The new pyrolysis plant can treat 40,000 tons of dry biogas fiber residue annually, achieving a climate impact of 42,000 tons of CO2 per year through a combination of carbon removal via biochar and avoided emissions. As we continue the work, we would like to thank everyone who joined us in marking this milestone for pyrolysis and biochar as an important #carbonremoval tool. Special thanks to: Lars Aagaard, Jeppe Bruus, Jacob Jensen, The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities, Ministeriet for Grøn Trepart, Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Agri Energy Vrå P/S, SAMSON AGRO A/S, Søren Greve Olesen, Martin Odgaard, Claus Haagensen, Andreas G. Jensby, Municipality of Hjoerring, Søren Smalbro, SEGES Innovation, Mette Kramer Langgaard, Danish Energy Agency, EUDP - Det Energiteknologiske Udviklings- og Demonstrationsprogram, Energy Cluster Denmark

Celebrating the inauguration of our full-scale SkyClean pyrolysis plant in Vrå, Denmark! We’re excited to share these highlights from yesterday's official opening of what we believe is the world's largest plant of its kind. The SkyClean pyrolysis unit, integrated with a biogas facility, has already produced significant amounts of biochar and pyrolysis gas — but yesterday we officially marked its completion. The plant can process up to 40,000 tons of dry fiber residue from the biogas facility annually at full capacity. A huge thank you to all the guests who traveled to Vrå and joined us for a fantastic afternoon of inspiring speeches, technology demonstrations, and live biochar spreading in the surrounding fields. Special thanks to government ministers Lars Aagaard, Jeppe Bruus, Jacob Jensen and Hjørring Mayor Søren Smalbro, who braved the rain and participated in the symbolic act of spreading biochar (i.e., storing carbon removed from the atmosphere) on farmland. During the event, we offset the climate impact of all 250 guests' travel to and from the inauguration by spreading 20 tons of biochar in the field next to the plant. At full capacity, this new pyrolysis plant has the potential to reduce Denmark's CO2 emissions by 42,000 tons per year through a combination of: - Carbon storage with biochar: 27,000 tons of CO2 - Reduced emissions from fossil energy sources: 11,000 tons of CO2 - Avoided methane emissions: 4,000 tons of CO2 We believe the world is ready to embrace #biochar, produced through the #pyrolysis of farm residues, as an affordable and effective #carboncapture and storage solution. Finally, a big shout-out to everyone who helped make this event such a success—too many to mention here.

We are excited to announce that the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) has joined Stiesdal as a new minority owner. EIFO’s investment in Stiesdal is part of the same funding round that recently brought Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker into our ownership circle. "Our goal is to accelerate the green transition beyond Denmark’s borders, and that goal is coming closer with EIFO now on board," says Jacob Nørgaard Andersen, CEO of Stiesdal. "We are eager to support that journey with our international expertise and financing solutions," adds Peter Boeskov, COO of EIFO’s Large Corporates department, which has a strong focus on exporting climate technologies. Here’s a glimpse of what EIFO stands for (from their website): "EIFO is the national promotional bank and export credit agency of Denmark, combined into one financial institution. With our willingness to take risks in financing, we pave the way for those who dare to think bigger." EIFO’s alignment with our mission to tackle the pressing challenges of climate change makes this partnership a perfect fit, and we look forward to working closely with the EIFO team. We are happy to be on the August front cover of Hydrogen Tech World Magazine with an in-depth feature about our drive to industrialize green hydrogen. In the article, our colleague Esben Baltzer Nielsen lays out the strategies behind our solutions. Some highlights: - Redefining alkaline electrolysis: The 3.1 MW HydroGen Electrolyzer redefines what alkaline electrolyzers can do in terms of operational variability and the ability to follow variable renewable energy sources. - Wind industry expertise meets hydrogen: By applying proven principles of standardization, modularization, and industrialization from the wind industry, we are cutting costs and boosting the scalability of green hydrogen solutions. - Modular design for flexibility: The HydroGen Electrolyzer features a true modular design that ensures flexible scaling and continuous operation for large projects. - Efficient deployment: Each 3.1 MW electrolyzer can be transported on just two standard trucks, emphasizing the plug-and-play nature of the technology and the focus on simplifying on-site installation and balance of plant. Enjoy the read 😊 #GreenHydrogen #EnergyTransition #Hydrogen
