Skelsættende dom fra Sø- og Handelsretten sikrer designere ret til at referere til tidligere værker i deres markedsføring. D. 24. juni 2024 afsagde Sø- og Handelsretten dom i konflikten mellem den verdenskendte designer Timothy Jacob Jensen (TJJ) og hans tidligere virksomhed Jacob Jensen Design A/S (JJD). Konflikten vedrørte blandt andet de referencer TJJ havde lavet på sin nye virksomheds hjemmeside (Timothy Jacob Jensen Design A/S - TJJS) til tidligere værker skabt i JJD regi. Sø- og Handelsretten fastslog, blandt andet på grundlag af erklæringer indhentet fra Forbundet Arkitekter og Designere - FAOD UBVA - Udvalget til Beskyttelse af Videnskabeligt Arbejde og Design denmark, at en designer har ret til at referere til og vise tidligere designs, designeren har medvirket til udførelse af som ansat i en tidligere virksomhed i forbindelse med markedsføring af sin nye virksomhed. Dette gælder selv i situationer, hvor designeren i henhold til sin ansættelseskontrakt har overdraget alle rettigheder til den tidligere virksomhed. Det er en forudsætning, at gengivelsen af værkerne sker i overensstemmelse med god skik. TJJS blev dog dømt for den konkrete gengivelse af værker på TJJS hjemmeside, da den medfølgende tekst kunne give indtryk af, at værkerne var skabt i TJJS regi. Havde referencerne alene været til TJJ som person, var TJJS blevet frikendt. TJJ blev til gengæld frikendt for henvisning til en lang række priser og æresbevisninger opnået i JJD regi, da henvisningen til disse alene relaterede sig til TJJ som person. Endelig blev TJJ frikendt for gengivelse på TJJS hjemmeside af en række videoer optaget af ham, mens han var direktør hos JJD, da referencerne alene relaterede til TJJ som person og derfor blev anset for i overensstemmelse med god skik. Dommen er endnu ikke offentliggjort, men vil få meget stor betydning for designere og deres mulighed for at markedsføre deres ydelser fremover. Excited to share our latest design for Skive Municipality, created by Timothy Jacob Jensen through Designers Trust. Skive Klyngen, in collaboration with Skive Municipality, has unveiled six unique signs around Skive. These signs, designed by Timothy Jacob Jensen Rikke Boe Nielsen Sanjay Yadav, guide tourists and share the city's stories. Three signs point to key locations, and three orientation boards feature city maps and QR codes for additional routes. Supported by Skive Municipality's urban development fund and Byudviklingsfonden, Spar Vest Fonden and Spar Nord, this project was executed by Dekolet, MT Stålindustri, Park Vej and reflects a true community effort. The Scandinavian style, inspired by Mondrian's De Stijl design, includes a modular brick system for easy updates. Additional signs for the Blue Walk group were also produced in the same design.

Yet another design award for climate-friendly tombstones Innovative thinking and a close collaboration between the Designers Trust, designer Felix Hoffmann, Timothy Jacob Jensen, and the Skive company Timestone is once again causing a stir outside the country's borders. The climate-friendly gravestones made of clay have just won another design award. This time the prestigious IF DESIGN AWARD 2024. Thousands of architects, companies, and designers participate every year in the competition, which has been held in Hamburg since 1954. It is not the first time Timestone has made a name for itself south of the Danish border. The headstones have also been awarded the German Design Award Special 2024. Nikolaj Tymm-Andersen is the founder and managing director of Timestone. He has a long career in the stonemason industry and imported many tons of tombstones from quarries in China and India to Danish cemeteries. It also inspired him. Why not make gravestones or memorial plaques in light and more sustainable materials that do not have to be shipped worldwide? The thought has turned into both action and honor. Nikolaj Tymm-Andersen received the innovation prize at the latest presentation of the Skive Business Award.
