Look to Sweden for good news Liquid Wind will develop a new e-fuels project in Sweden together with Övik Energi AB Energy. The new facility is planned to produce no less than 100,000 tons per year of e-methanol. As a partner to Liquid Wind, we cheer big time on this exciting project. 🎉 e-methanol is projected to be a key contributor to decarbonizing the maritime sector. The International Maritime Organization’s targets include e-methanol to make up 8% of global shipping fuel demand by 2030 (announced pledges scenario). Let this project be a catalyst for the e-fuels market to pick up pace in the coming years. 💪 #LetsDecarbonize Read more about the e-methanol project here⤵️

We need to shape the future of renewable hydrogen now! Together with other executives from the Renewable Hydrogen Coalition, we urge immediate and bold action to maintain Europe’s leadership in renewable hydrogen ahead of the publication of the Clean Industrial Deal. The EU’s support has been critical to building the renewable hydrogen value chain in Europe. To keep momentum, we need fast implementation of adopted legislation and streamlined permitting for renewable hydrogen projects as well as regulators and companies to collaborate across the value chain. ⚡ Energy resilience isn’t optional - it’s essential. With energy demand set to grow up to 18% by 2050, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA), and global supply chains under pressure, diversifying our energy sources will be critical. Renewable fuels, low-carbon fuels and e-fuels are viable solutions, empowering nations to produce energy locally, mitigate risks and advance sustainability. It’s time to embrace diversified energy systems to secure a reliable and sustainable future. 🔗Dig into article two of our series: https://lnkd.in/eGZRXiZa #LetsDecarbonize

It’s been an impactful week at the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos this week. I had the opportunity to participate in meetings and panels with global leaders representing industries, governments and organizations to discuss the impact of the new energy reality where geopolitical turmoil, economic shifts, and technological innovation shapes our reality. Diversification of energy sources and energy security continues to be at the top of the global agenda in the context of the energy transition. By investing in cleaner energy, countries can diversify their energy sources and create local production facilities which improves the resilience of energy systems overall. This also mitigates the supply disruptions and price volatility that is common in traditional fuels. Thank you to everyone who took the time to connect and discuss how we create progress together. Also, a big thank you to World Economic Forum, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Foreign Policy, and others for inviting me to share my thoughts at their events. #LetsDecarbonize

As I make my way home from World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, one thing is clear: Despite global challenges and economic shifts, the ambitions to deploy solutions to reduce global GHG emissions prevail. During the past four days, I’ve had inspiring conversations with leaders from global companies, governments and organizations about the deployment of technologies and solutions that can make real impact, diversify our energy sources and strengthen energy security. I’m grateful that I've been able to share Topsoe’s perspectives with global leaders and decision makers on how we advance clean energy solutions, finance the transition and mitigate risks to lead a profitable and rewarding switch to clean fuels. Working together across the value chain has never been more critical as we tackle immense challenges in an increasingly complex world. The past year hasn’t been easy for the energy transition, but slowing down is simply not what the world needs. I leave Davos with both hope and determination, seeing a shared willingness to act and opportunities for deeper collaboration. At Topsoe, we remain steadfast in our commitment to working with partners and customers to lead the way in the energy transition. #LetsDecarbonize #wef25

Tried, tested, ready to decarbonize! ✅🌍 Some of the technologies we use to minimize greenhouse gas emissions of transportation fuels have been around for decades. 🔬 One of them is gasification. While originally used to convert coal into fuel, it now has the potential to play an increasingly larger role in the production of renewable fuels. By transforming renewable feedstocks such as solid biogenic waste and biomass into renewable fuels, it helps scale up cleaner fuels like sustainable aviation fuel. ✈️ By 2050, it’s expected to play a significant role in decarbonizing the fuel industry. 🌱 Tune in to our latest Fuel for Thought Podcast episode, where Sylvain Verdier and Mikala Grubb have invited Paul Smit (Pauli) Baumann from Hatch, and Topsoe’s own Johan Malan into the studio for a 360 discussion on gasification 🎧 https://lnkd.in/d5aAGrua #LetsDecarbonize

🌍 Yesterday, our CEO, Power to X, Kim Hedegaard joined Financial Times' Daily Davos Show at #WEF25 alongside Vaishali Nigam Sinha, Co-Founder at ReNew, Ásgeir Thór Óskarsson, CEO at BSV Blockchain, and moderator Andrew Hill. The discussion focused on the state of the energy transition and the solutions urgently needed to accelerate progress. While there’s been record investment, significant technological advancements, and growth in clean energy, we’re still far from the pace required to achieve net zero by 2050. Alarmingly, only 10% of the necessary low-emission technologies are currently deployed, with challenges like geopolitical tensions, high interest rates, and market slowdowns standing in the way. Kim highlighted the critical role of proven technologies like renewable fuels, carbon capture, and high-efficiency electrolyzers in scaling the energy transition. To make a real impact, we need robust policy frameworks, strong partnerships, and investments in first-of-a-kind projects supported by risk-sharing models. Collaboration is the key - and conversations like today’s at Davos are an important step forward. #LetsDecarbonize
