Did you see our news about the Nature Communications article 💥multiDGD: A versatile deep generative model for multi-omics data💥 yesterday? Well, Nature also released a feature about the Human Cell Atlas, which aims to catalogue every cell type in people. 🎉 The feature highlighted multi-DGD as one of seven single-cell technology tools that have the potential to unlock new discoveries in the field! ✨ Congratulations to Viktoria Schuster and Anders Krogh from UCPH Center for Health Data Science (HeaDS), Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen and Emma Dann and Sarah Teichmann FMedSci FRS at the Wellcome Sanger Institute on the well-deserved mention! #singlecell #hca #humancellatlas #nature #multiDGD #popV #SCimilarity #scSemiProfiler #SCHAF #CellAgentChat #UNAGI #omics #multiomics

🚨 UCPH Center for Health Data Science (HeaDS) has been spotted in Nature Communications! 🚨 Viktoria Schuster and Anders Krogh from HeaDS, in collaboration with Emma Dann and Sarah Teichmann FMedSci FRS at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, are behind 💥 multiDGD: A versatile deep generative model for multi-omics data 💥 We asked Viki to sum up the article: "multiDGD is a deep generative model for paired single-cell multi-omics data. Its architecture is different from other methods. It is a decoder-only model, which enables it to be data-efficient. That plus the probabilistic modeling of covariates for disentangled representations even allows us to integrate cells from previously unseen covariates. Another main aspect of the paper is the demonstration of what else can be done with such generative models. We included a proof of concept for in silico perturbations of gene expression and the effects on chromatin accessibility. So I am really hoping this is a starting point and motivation for using emergent properties of these models for hypothesis generation." Intrigued?
