In behavioral science, we often hear about the transformative potential of nudges. Nudges are small, low-cost interventions that guide better decision-making. They can be delivered via a Garmin watch or mobile app via DataMentor. But how impactful are these nudges really when applied at scale in real-world settings? A recent study assessing 23 million data points sheds light on this. On average, nudge interventions lead to a 1.4 percentage point improvement in targeted outcomes. While this effect size seems small and not nearly as impressive as those highlighted in some academic review papers or predicted by those outside the field, there’s an important detail 🧠: many published studies are influenced by publication bias, and the scale of interventions introduces new variables. 💡 So why should we keep nudging? A 1.4% improvement may not sound groundbreaking, but it’s achieved with minimal or zero marginal costs. Even a modest percentage shift can have a massive real-world impact on governments, corporations, or healthcare institutions. This study offers a realistic and optimistic perspective: Nudges work. They may not be the silver bullet, but they are a reliable and scalable tool for driving meaningful change. Even better, those insightful nudges can be implemented worldwide. There is a compelling case for testing and integrating nudging into clinical investigations for research teams seeking to improve health outcomes without overhauling systems. #BehavioralScience #Nudges #PrecisionHealth #Garmin DellaVigna, S., & Linos, E. Are you looking to set up a research study? Need RAW data you can trust? We've got you covered. ✅ Can you get the raw data? Yes! Our Data Mentor platform ensures secure, unfiltered access to raw data from devices like Garmin watches. This means you can run your analyses without worrying about the manufacturer altering, aggregating, or hiding the data. 📱 What types of phones does it work on? Most modern smartphones, such as Android and iOS. However, some older or less common mobiles may lack the required features (e.g., Bluetooth protocols and operating system updates) for seamless integration. We'll help you make sure your participants know which devices are compatible and ready to go. 💡 Why does this matter? Access to raw data is critical for research integrity. Whether you're studying heart rate variability, sleep patterns, or activity levels, having unmodified data is the cornerstone of credible insights. When manufacturers filter or alter data, it can compromise your findings. Our mission is to provide clinicians and researchers like you with a hassle-free, secure, and seamless way to access raw data so you can focus on what truly matters. #ResearchTools #GarminForResearch #DataIntegrity #WearableTech

Asking timely, topical, and groundbreaking research questions can catch the attention of funding bodies, but that is only the beginning. The real challenge? Building the infrastructure to acquire a high volume of data points that drive discovery. You are not alone if you have ever felt the pressure to balance innovation with practicality. Now more than ever, we need to address the barriers that slow or limit community involvement. Creating frameworks that allow our communities to participate in research studies must check off some practical boxes: ✅Easy ✅Safe ✅Convenient Check out our research partner, Shellie Boudreau Christensen, PhD, as she dives into understanding the open science movement and community involvement. #science #research #dataforhealth #citizenscience
Why don't more people participate in research studies?🧐 Perhaps it is a matter of privilege, as Jelani Clarke Ph.D. from AminoChain and DeSci World, explains. So what can we do about it? 👇 #openscience #DeSci #web3 #biobanks

Seeing what AI 'sees' in 3D eye scans - that is what we learned yesterday from Marcel Reimann. The big question is whether we can flag the onset of glaucoma much earlier - potentially during routine eye scans. If yes, we are in a position to slow down the progression of the disease. Marcel is exploring #AI and its potential impact on forever.ku.dk data - a massive collection of retinal images using Optical Coherence Tomography. Teaser: Preliminary results are promising 👀😃 Miriam Kolko and the team and #Synoptik initiated a collaborative project using the data mentor platform 💪, and new updates and findings continue to roll out and inspire the team here at Unikk.me #eyehealth #precisionmedicine

Just like microscopes revolutionized biological research 🔬 , mHealth apps are starting to transform how we gather and analyze health data. With over 36,000 healthcare apps published annually on Google Play 😯, mHealth is no longer just about patient engagement. These apps are becoming robust tools for researchers and clinicians. Why is that? A custom app that gathers real-time data from thousands of participants can integrate seamlessly with your analysis pipelines and scale your research beyond traditional methods. Said differently, it is within your reach. Check out a few easy add-ons that you could include in a customizable app. Would you happen to have any more wishes? Let us know. 😊 #lifestyle #pain #diebetes #metabolic #research
