UNOPS genopslog dette
At the 4th Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum #RIHF my message was clear: in a world of overlapping crises, we must act faster, scale smarter, and break down silos. Coordination is not optional, it’s essential. Crisis prevention, humanitarian aid, and development must work as one to drive sustainable impact. I highlighted how UNOPS strengthens local supply chains through sustainable procurement and partnerships, ensuring resilience and sustainability in crisis response. Stronger local supply chains mean faster, more effective humanitarian action. We must raise ambition and global solidarity in the response to ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Moçambique, Haiti, Somalia, Ukraine and many more. I also had productive discussions throughout the day reinforcing the importance of collaboration: 🔹 With Saudi Fund for Development CEO Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad – We explored ways to deepen our partnership and identify new opportunities for sustainable impact. 🔹With King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center Supervisor General Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah – We discussed the urgent need for more collaborative humanitarian responses to global challenges. Strengthening partnerships is key to making a difference. 🔹 With Islamic Development Bank Chairman Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser – We focused on global developments and how we can enhance cooperation to support recovery and reconstruction in our Member States. These partnerships are critical to achieving lasting results. Looking forward to building on these conversations to drive real impact where it’s needed most. Glad to be joined in this mission to Riyadh by UNOPS colleagues Freya von Groote, Bana Kaloti, Hala AL-SHARIFI.
