Proactive CarPlay

This builds on some earlier posts incorporating all the things I would like to see in CarPlay.

Currently CarPlay's "intelligence" is limited to jumping into a specific app and then having the relevant information presented in that domain. Maps, for example, will show where it thinks I want to go and my ETA, but ONLY if I open the Maps app. Taking advantage of the behavioral patterns Siri learns in iOS 9 around context and time of day, it would be exciting to incorporate Siri Suggestions in a page that appears to the left of the CarPlay home screen. On the phone these are people and apps, but not all apps are appropriate for a car environment. Instead a way to perform quick tasks that call up Siri actions could be extremely beneficial to someone who isn't familiar with all the things Siri is capable of (Notes and Reminders come to mind). Additionally, places of interest could come up just as it does on iOS 9.

Android Auto has a home page with Google Now cards that shows contextual INFORMATION, but not necessarily contextual ACTIONS and there is a pretty big difference there since CarPlay has a now established user-interaction paradigm of going into an app first before seeing the contextual information.

I've already filed a radar (22489544) for the feature request and would love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to duplicate and request on bugreport.apple.com
