Reliance Jio continues to expand its True5G network, with over 170 million subscribers now on the platform, accounting for 40% of its wireless traffic, the company said in its quarterly (Q3) result.

Jio’s broadband service, JioAirFiber, has significantly boosted connectivity beyond the top 1,000 cities and towns. Over 70% of new JioAirFiber connections come from previously underserved areas, contributing to a total home connection base of approximately 17 million.

The quarter also marked the launch of JioAICloud, offering up to 100 GB of free cloud storage for consumers. Backed by gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure, Jio is positioned to provide a range of AI-driven services for both consumers and enterprises.

At the India Mobile Congress 2024, Jio introduced JioBrain, a Machine Learning platform designed for integration across operations. Additional AI-based offerings included JioEducation for immersive learning, JioFrames and JioPartnerWorld for workforce skill development and supervision, and JioKrishi to enhance agricultural productivity. Jio also launched JioCloudPC, allowing users to turn their TV screens into functional computers using a set-top box.

Commenting on these developments, Akash M. Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, said, “Jio has played a key role in digital inclusion by bringing the world’s best communication technologies for every Indian. Rapid scale-up of 5G adoption and extending fixed broadband beyond Tier 1 towns further strengthens the Digital India mission. Jio will continue to lead the charge in technology innovation by fully embracing the power of AI to create a connected, intelligent future that is truly transformative. This will drive sustained value creation over the next many years.”
