Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on January 20. At the ceremony in Washington, D.C. on the steps of the US Capitol, Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance will take the oath of office and assume their positions in the White House.

However, the inauguration ceremony will be more than just a swearing-in — Trump’s team has just released the schedule of events, revealing those who will perform at the event, The Spectator World reports.

Who is performing at Donald Trump's inauguration?

The event will begin with a musical prelude by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln combined chorus. Afterwards, the US Marine Marching Band will perform and and US Senator Amy Klobuchar – in her role as Chair of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies for the 60th Presidential Inauguration – will call the ceremony to order, according to The Independent. The main events will kick start after the invocation.

Vice President-elect Vance will be sworn in first by Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, followed by a performance of “America the Beautiful” performed by Grammy-award-winning artist Carrie Underwood alongside the Armed Forces Chorus and the Naval Academy Glee Club.

Donald Trump's 2025 inauguration is set to feature a star-studded lineup, with country music star Carrie Underwood among the performers. Underwood, who gained fame on "American Idol", is set to perform "America the Beautiful" just before Donald Trump takes the oath of office on January 20, 2025. She expressed her pride in the nation and said was "honoured" to be part of the historic occasion, as reported by news agency Associated Press. She is best known for her hits “Inside your Heaven,” “Jesus Take the Wheel,” and “Before He Cheats.”

The 41-year-old Oklahoma native has remained mostly apolitical but has been vocal about her feelings on animal cruelty, speaking out about a Tennessee bill in 2013 that was seen as a way of making it harder for activists to record animal cruelty and share it with the authorities.

Then the main event will start: President-elect Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. The new president will give an Inaugural Address afterward. Faith leaders will close out the ceremony with a Benediction, and the events will end with a performance of the National Anthem by singer Christopher Macchio, the report mentioned.

Macchio, a classical vocalist, has performed at several right-wing events, including Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally in October and Mexico’s Conservative Political Action Conference.

The Village People, known for their 1970s hits like "Y.M.C.A." and "Macho Man," which became a staple of Trump's rallies in the last election, will perform at two of Trump’s inaugural events, including a ball and a rally. According to the Associated Press, the band has clarified that their performance is not meant to endorse any political agenda but to bring the country together through music. Other performers at the event include Trump’s favourites—country singer Lee Greenwood and opera singer Christopher Macchio.

Who will perform at Trump’s pre-inauguration events?

Trump is set to hold a "Make America Great Again Victory Rally" in Washington, D.C. on January 19 — just hours ahead of his inauguration.

That night, Turning Point USA will also host an Inaugural Eve Ball. Vice President-elect Vance, Donald Trump Jr., Megyn Kelly and other major MAGA players are set to appear, according to an announcement from Turning Point USA founder and CEO Charlie Kirk.

The Village People, one of Trump’s favorite bands, will perform. He has regularly used their hits “Y.M.C.A” and “Macho Man” at his rallies.

Trump inauguration celebrations

The inaugural will be a four-day affair, which is expected to be different from his first, with notable differences in guest lists and ceremonies. On Saturday, Trump will attend a reception and a fireworks display at his Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia. At the same time, Vice President-elect JD Vance will host a reception for incoming Cabinet members and a dinner.

These events mark the beginning of a series of celebrations leading up to the inauguration. Sunday will see the president-elect take part in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, paying tribute to the nation's fallen heroes. Later in the day, he will hold a "MAGA Victory" rally at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, where the iconic Village People are set to perform.

Inauguration Day on January 20th will see a number of key events, including a traditional tea at the White House, followed by the swearing-in ceremony at the Capitol. Trump will then attend a congressional luncheon before leading a parade down Pennsylvania Avenue. The inaugural celebrations will also feature three balls: the Commander in Chief Ball for military service members, the Liberty Inaugural Ball for Trump supporters (with a performance by the Village People), and the Starlight Ball, which will focus on high-dollar donors. Trump is expected to speak at all three balls.

The parade will include approximately 7,500 participants, including first responders, veterans groups, and school marching bands. First responders from Butler County, Pennsylvania, where Trump survived an assassination attempt, will also be involved.

First Lady Melania Trump will join the Bidens for tea at the White House, a significant gesture after the 2021 inauguration, when the Trumps did not meet the Bidens before the ceremony.
