About us

Estonian Aviation Museum is the only aviation museum in Estonia and one of the largest in the North Europe region. Located in South Estonia, near the city of Tartu, we have a large and growing collection of aircraft and aircraft models. Estonian Aviation Museum was founded in 1999 and opened to the public in 2002. Its mission was to inspire and educate people about aerospace history in Estonia. Since then, it has grown tremendously. Right now the museum houses aircraft from the Soviet Union, Sweden, Switzerland, and Ukraine, to name a few. Some key highlights: 1. In the open-air area, we have 26 real aircraft and 4 helicopters. For example we have the F-4 Phantom II, which is one of the most produced American supersonic military aircraft in history. We even have passenger planes like the Tu-134, which was one of the most widely used aircraft in the former Warsaw Pact countries. 2. The inside exposition area contains over 500 models of aircraft, helicopters, and air defense missiles. All these models in one place give you a visual idea of how much technology has evolved throughout the years. 3. For our fun-loving visitors we have trampolines, a 20m-high-jump catapult, flight simulators, piloting, and parachute jumping. Since 2006, every year the Estonian Aviation Museum arranges and hosts the Estonian Aviation days. This is the largest aviation event in the Baltics. The Estonian air force and the Police and Border Guard patrol are regular participants in this event. We also have flight acrobat displays by international teams of pilots from Finland, Ukraine, and Poland. The event lasts two days and we have other fun activities like trampolines, tower jumps, and sightseeing flights. In 2021, we are planning to host them on 7-8 August. This is a “must attend” event if you are an aviation enthusiast or looking for innovative entertainment. We look forward to welcoming you at the Estonian Aviation Days 2021!
