🌿 Learn more about TalTech Circular Economy Core Lab activities at the largest sustainability festival, Impact Day 2024! 🌱 🌍 Allan Niidu, the leader of TalTech's Circular Economy Core Lab, moderated a panel discussion titled “Ready to Reduce: What's Our Next Step?” at the event. The sustainability experts participating in the discussion focused on the roles different sectors play in reducing environmental footprints. According to Niidu, it is crucial to keep sustainability at the forefront because our planet's resources are limited. “Sustainability primarily means aligning humanity's resource use with the planet's ability to provide them. It's important to understand that, in the long run, this is a matter of survival— the planet can manage without humans, but humans cannot manage without the planet,” explained Niidu. 🍴 Karin Käär the coordinator of TalTech's Circular Economy Core Lab, led the workshop about circular economy of mineral commodities titled "Where Does the Fork Come From?", where participants engaged in an interactive exercise connecting various raw materials to everyday products. They explored the origins of common items like forks, tracing the minerals used in their production and learning about the importance of sustainable resource management. The workshop emphasised how raw materials play a crucial role in our daily lives and highlighted the need to promote recycling and the circular economy to minimise waste and reduce environmental impact. ⚒ Henri Suomalainen, a specialist in the Division of Mineral Resources and Applied Geology at TalTech Department of Geology, delivered an inspiring talk titled "Minerals Got Talent," highlighting the essential role of mineral raw materials in our daily lives and their critical importance in driving the green transition. He explored how minerals underpin everything from technology to infrastructure, emphasizing the urgent need for sustainable resource management in the face of increasing global demand. #ImpactDay #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #GreenTransition #RawMinerals #TalTech #RMTL #AGEMERA 📌 TalTech Circular Economy Core Lab 📌 AGEMERA EU Project
