Proud to represent Baramoda at the second National Working Group meeting of the "Focus and Discourse on Organic Waste in Egypt and Jordan" project, alongside leading experts in waste management and sustainability. 🌍 At Baramoda, we see organic waste not as a burden, but as an opportunity for positive change. We are excited to continue our journey toward a sustainable agricultural future that supports both the environment and the local economy. ✨ #Baramoda #Sustainability #OrganicWasteManagement #InnovationForChange
Imagine a future where the 20-25 million tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) generated annually in Egypt, with its 60% organic content, are no longer a burden but a valuable resource. Envision turning the 30-40 million tons of agricultural waste into sustainable energy and vital materials for national agricultural projects. This is not a distant dream—it’s a collaborative mission currently unfolding. In this context, the second National Working Group meeting of the transformative project, "Focus and Discourse on Organic Waste in Egypt and Jordan," brought together key players in waste management, innovation, and sustainability. Chaired by Mr. Yasser Abdullah, Chairman of the Waste Management Regulatory Authority, Egyptian Ministry of Environment and Prof. Sherien Elagroudy, Director of the Egypt Solid Waste Management Center of Excellence at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. This gathering was not just a meeting—it was a milestone in reimagining organic waste as a driver of economic and environmental progress. This project is laying the groundwork for robust strategies and practical solutions to unlock the untapped potential of organic waste in Egypt, Jordan, and the wider Arab world. This project brings together key stakeholders, including Ain Shams University, Universität Rostock(Germany), and Jordan University of Science and Technology, to establish a national committee of companies, ministries, and governmental bodies dedicated to advancing organic waste management in the region. The meeting was attended by Prof. Abdallah Nassour, project coordinator from Universität Rostock, who joined virtually. A number of leading companies in the organic waste management sector also participated, including General, Wesam Eldin Swailam from ECARU ENTAG, Mr. Ahmed Madawey, and Mr. Diaa Yahia from Baramouda, Dr. Ayman Hassan, Agricultural Research Center, Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture, Eng. Samar Fathi, Beni Suef for Organic Fertilizers (AGRN), Dr. @Ahmed Rady from @EGY-MAG Biotech, Eng. Abdelrahman Ezz from PROTEINA, Dr. Muhammad Omar from BioMasr Ltd., Mr. Hossam Khalaf from Green Planet, Eng. Mohamed Khalifa Heidelberg Materials Egypt, and Eng. Sherien Ali from GIZ Egypt and Eng. Noha S. Abed from NSWMP. Through these discussions, we are unlocking significant opportunities for investments in organic waste management, a critical sector for Egypt's future. A special thanks to Dr. Barbara Beckert, member of Germany’s Advisory Assistance Programme (AAP), and Dr. Anja Schwetje from the supervising agency UBA, Germany's central environmental authority, for their continued support and invaluable contributions to this project. #WasteManagement #OrganicWaste #SustainableDevelopment #Recycling #Environment #Egypt_Jordan #RenewableEnergy #InvestmentOpportunities #InternationalCollaboration #Training_Awareness #FutureSustainability
