Firnas Shuman provides consulting and technical services to those who plan, build, own, and operate power generation and transmission infrastructure in Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. We have been involved in tens of thousands of megawatts of power generation capacity in over fifty countries. We provide environmental and social compliance consulting services to general infrastructure projects. We install, operate and maintain meteorological stations and field instruments throughout the developing world. Our staff are a diverse, multinational group of experienced mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical and environmental engineers working to support impactful projects in the developing world. We have worked on behalf of governments and national utilities, major international developers, investors, development banks, and development agencies to help design, manage, monitor, and evaluate their projects.

The U.S. government – through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Power Central Asia activity – delivered a Light Detection and Ranging unit to the Ministry of Energy in Kyrgyz Republic. The official handover ceremony was held on May 24, 2024. Firnas Shuman was honored to be selected by Tetra Tech International Development as a supplier of ZX Lidars ZX300 LiDAR units for this project and to provide 2-day training for technical staff on the use of the wind measurement equipment, where they learned about the assembly, operation, and data interpretation of the units. Earlier, under the same USAID Power Central Asia activity, Firnas Shuman supplied LiDARs and conducted training in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
